When you plan your wedding day, there is no question that a lot work goes into planning out all the details and making every aspect of the day special and unique. When we met up with Cheryl and Mike, last year, they made it clear that their wedding was going to be very special, but never did we imagine that they would go to the lengths that they did to make such a perfect day for their guests!
The couple went through great lengths to hand-make all the details for their day, starting with the bride and bridesmaids bouquets, which were absolutely exquisite! The bride’s bouquet alone took over 60 hours to make, which in our book is just one example of her dedication to making their day perfect! The paper peony bouquets were made from heavyweight recycled paper as seen in the example here: Paper Peonies . They also made hanging lanterns using string and coffee filters, which created such a romantic and rustic environment for their reception. And kudos to you both for making everything look perfect!
The day started out with some concern, as the bride and her maids began getting ready at the Holiday Inn, since the rain and thunderstorms seemed to go on for hours. However, despite a few mishaps, and Mother Nature doing things her way, nothing dampened Cheryl’s spirits for such a special day. As the bus arrived to take the girls to Indian Ladder Farms, where the bride slipped into her flattering gown, the sun began to peek out from the clouds! Perfect timing as always Mother Nature! The guys got ready on location after finishing last minute touches to the barn.
The ceremony took place in a private field under a tent, where the bride and her maids arrived in style, in a yellow school bus – matching their yellow and grey theme! Formal photos followed the ceremony right there in the beautiful and rustic apple orchards of Indian Ladder Farms – where the couple also had their engagement photos taken by Solas Studios in early June. Click here to see their engagement blog post. The apple barn made the most amazing place for their buffet-style dinner, and reception! The food was amazing! I don’t know what they did to those potatoes, but they were the best! Plenty of dancing followed the dinner, with a great mix of music and lighting provided by Sound Advice DJ. After the night began to come to a close, the bride and groom had a beautiful sparkler-lit send off, to their bus.
Cheryl and Mike, we are so happy you chose us to be a part of your day! Even with some ups and downs, you never faltered, or let it get the best of you. Your happy yellow color is so significant of your personalities, and was a perfect choice for such a momentous day! It was a pleasure working with you and your families, and we wish you many, many more days of sunshine in your lives together. It’s clear that even through the rain, you two manage to find reasons to keep the smiles on your faces.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
(With all good wishes)
