When you love the outdoors as much as Amanda and Tim do, it makes perfect sense to plan an outdoor wedding, and what better time and place to do that, than autumn in New York? They also decided on a perfect time and place for their engagement session with us back in August. During their session, they told us about all the wonderful plans they had been working on for their wedding, and we were excited to see how it all came together for their October wedding.
We arrived to the Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club to find Amanda and her girls excited and ready to celebrate. The skies were blue but peppered with the prettiest white clouds. The air was crisp, but there was barely a breeze to be had. Which was surprising, since we were right on the shores of Oneida Lake. We could not believe all of the “autumn awesome” that Amanda and Tim created for their wedding day! There were so many breathtaking colors and so much love handcrafted into each and every thing that decorated the country club in celebration of their nuptials. The most touching commemoration, though, was the beautiful roses that were artfully preserved in shadow boxes as gifts to some of the bridal party. Having a family member pass away is never an easy loss to cope with. But Amanda’s family suffered the heartbreaking loss of not one, but two grandparents only weeks before their wedding. Flowers from their services were saved, and put together in the boxes to remember and honor them, on a day when their presences were sorely missed. Amanda further honored them with a memorial table with their photos, and saved two of the roses to include in her bridal bouquet, carrying their memory with her throughout the day.
Through all the hard times, though, their family remained spirited and happy for Amanda and Tim, and the day could not have been more beautiful. They set aside a few moments before their wedding ceremony to privately see each other, and how amazing they both looked! Their ceremony was just perfect by the lake, with all their fall decorations to really create the festive feel for the exchange of their vows. And almost as if on cue, following their ceremony, the wind picked up and the water became choppy as the big huge clouds rolled in. After some portraits of the couple, we went in to start the party! A delectable buffet dinner was served by the staff at Lakeshore, before the afternoon was filled with lots of fun and dancing to the music provided by Whirlin Disc. Amanda and Tim chose another fall favorite for their dessert – PIES! Not only were they a delicious choice to finish the meal, but they were another festive decoration for their reception!
Amanda and Tim, you guys did such a fantastic job putting together the perfect fall wedding for yourselves! It was a visual feast for all of your guests, and for your photographers! We really love fall, too, and were so impressed by how great everything looked! The fact that you were able to put all of this together amidst all of life’s unexpected hardships makes it even more impressive. We really enjoyed our adventures with you, for both your engagement session and your wedding day, and are honored to have been chosen as your wedding photographers. We hope that the coming months and years bring you both the love and happiness that you so deserve. You’ve earned it!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
(With all good wishes)
