Timberlodge at Arrowhead Golf Club Wedding, Akron, NY ♥ Samantha + Ken

Samantha and Ken’s wedding at Timberlodge was a bittersweet end to our 2016 wedding season. Sam and Ken came to us just over a year ago looking for their wedding photographer, and we knew instantly that would love to have them as our clients. They dazzled us with their sweet love for each other when they met us in Lake George for their engagement session last October. One year later, we met them in Buffalo at the Spring Hill Suites as they readied for what would be an amazing wedding day!Samantha and her ladies were lucky to have the talents of Eva Jewel for their makeup application, and Sue Baker for their hair styling. All of them looked fantastic! Her stunning florals were courtesy of the talents of  I Do Weddings Florist.Their ceremony at St. Amelia’s Roman Catholic Church was followed by an amazing cocktail hour despite the windy chill outside!Sam and Ken’s day was perfect, not one raindrop fell from the sky, while Syracuse and the eastern part of the state suffered through rain and even snow!Sam and Ken worked really hard at putting so much into every single detail of their wedding. And it showed! And their families were absolutely overjoyed by being there to celebrate their day.Saxman Slim knocked it out of the park with his sax, and with his song choices for the evening. There was no spare room on the dancefloor at any given time. They ended the night with a s’mores bar, and a few romantic kisses by the gazebo.Sam and Ken, the two of you…

Dibbles Inn Wedding, Vernon, NY ♥ Heather + Adam

Heather and Adam’s wedding at the Dibble’s Inn in Vernon, was such a blast! These two were such a fun and laid back couple to work with, and their wedding was just as fun and laid back as they were! We were pretty excited to hear that Heather was even going to coordinate her hair color with her wedding decor! Nikki from Euforium can be thanked for her amazing color and wedding day coiffure. We knew probably in the first 15 minutes of meeting Heather and Adam that we were going to be a good fit. All 15 minutes were taken up by conversing about cats. One crazy cat lady always recognizes another! On their wedding day, Heather and Adam got ready at La Quinta Hotel, and then traveled to the Dibbles Inn where their ceremony and reception would be held. They had their first look right on the front porch, followed by some pretty fun and unique portraits. As firefighters, they had tot have a “little something” to incorporate one of the things they enjoy doing together most, in their wedding portraits.Don’t worry, no firefighters were injured in the making of these wedding portraits. But they sure did look pretty cute.Heather had some pretty awesome bridesmaids, but since Danielle was unable to make the wedding, they made sure she would still be included in her wedding pictures. So her face on a spatula made the rounds, all day long. They had a sweet ceremony, in which they exchanged their vows under the cover of some very beautiful trees, that made a great backdrop,…

Lourdes Camp Engagement Session, Skaneateles, NY ♥ Martha & CJ

We just adored Martha and CJ’s engagement session at Lourdes Camp, in Skaneateles! It was a delightful fall afternoon and the perfect place to have their session, with all of the leaves changing colors!Lourdes Camp is situated right on Skaneateles Lake at Tenmile Point, where the scenic views from the beach are just breathtaking! They brought along their cute, furry little friend, “Boo”, who totally wanted to steal all the thunder away from them, right from the very start! He tried so hard, too! He was just so cute, that we couldn’t help but let him have a little bit of attention. The dry summer that turned into fall left the creek bed nice and dry – a perfect place to put these love birds for a portrait! Boo really didn’t give up on being the center of attention. In fact, he even upped his game as the session went on. But, Martha and CJ still managed to keep in a romantic mood despite the antics of their four-legged fur baby. Especially with the campfire, and some cuddles to keep them warm. Our time with them came to a close when the skies opened up and the rain that threatened the session all day finally made an appearance. But we didn’t mind a bit! What an awesome session this was, Marth and CJ (and Boo, too)! We really had a great time, and the two (or three) of you were so easy to work with! We are eager to be there with you again next year for the wedding! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all…

Ventosa Vineyards Engagement Session, Geneva, NY ♥ Lisa & Casey

Lisa and Casey’s engagement session started out at the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards, in Geneva. It was such a lovely autumn day and we had the vineyards all to ourselves, overlooking the sparkling Seneca Lake!Well, almost! This little fella wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After a few close ups, he let us get back to work. The pretty blue skies, and the golden autumn sun helped make some very pretty portraits!Oh, and we couldn’t leave without a photo of the donkeys. The kept their eyes on us to make sure we were doing a good job. After we left the vineyards, we headed over to Sampson State Park where Teddy joined us for a few portraits by the lake.It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, even though it was pretty cold at the end. We had a wonderful time with you three, Lisa and Casey, and we are super excited for your wedding next year! It’s going to be fabulous! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be sure to watch the video below for more highlight images from their session! Drumlins Country Club Wedding, Syracuse, NY ♥ Ashley + Matthew

No precipitation was going to put a damper on Ashley and Matt’s Drumlins Country Club Wedding! Though, I really should mention that last year, they brought snow with them for their engagement session, so we are very thankful that the snow stayed away for their wedding! Ashley, her bridesmaids, and the moms got some pampering done on the morning of their wedding. Flawless makeup application was provided by Holly of A List Artistry, and hair styling was courtesy of Krista at Lavish Salon. The guys got warmed up with some shots, and got ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, where the ladies also headed after finishing up at the salon. It may have been a wet and cold day outside, but inside there were plenty of warm and heartfelt moments, as the ladies shared a special gift for the bride, and the guys shared some drinks and laughs.Ashley was full of smiles as she and her bridesmaids exchanged some very special gifts. After getting into her gown, Ashley made her way downstairs for their First Look inside the lobby at the Crowne Plaza. After formal portraits with their immediate family and the bridal party, they made their way to Drumlin’s Country Club for their ceremony. After the ceremony, the beautifully lit ballroom made a romantic and festive setting for their reception and dinner. We can confidently say that Ashley and Matt’s wedding was the first one we’ve seen that included a corn cob pipe. I think we can speak for everyone, and say we’re also glad that Andrew didn’t keep dinner waiting while he read through…

Elmwood and Onondaga Parks Engagement Session, Syracuse, NY ♥ Lauren & Dan

Lauren and Dan’s Elmwood and Onondaga Parks engagement session was just perfect on a lovely autumn day in Syracuse. Native to Syracuse, Lauren and Dan felt right at home at our first stop in Elmwood Park. With a shortage of rainfall this summer, the water levels in the creek were nice and low so we took advantage and went right down into the creek bed for some portraits. In addition to its pretty creek, the stone steps are another beautiful feature of Elmwood. We then took the short drive over to Upper Onondaga Park.Well-known for its pond, and gazebo, the park made the front of many postcards. We think that Lauren and Dan made the park look pretty good that day, and would make a nice postcard all on their own!Ahh, the beautiful sunlight! Most people seek the variety of colors that the foliage brings in the fall. As photographers, the colors are lovely, but the true beauty is that warm, romantic sunlight. It makes even a black and white photograph “shine”.And of course, who could “overlook” the views of the city, and the iconic Carrier Dome? Nothing like being able to capture a portrait in front of a city you know and love so well and these guys looked pretty adorable doing it! Thank you for hanging out with us for the afternoon, Lauren and Dan! And for choosing us to join you on your wedding journey! We look forward to being there for the big day next summer! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be…

Rustic Farm Wedding Cherry Valley, NY ♥ Amy + Liam

There couldn’t be a better time for a rustic farm wedding, than in the fall. The colors, the crisp autumn air, sweaters, boots and a roaring fire pit were all just small parts of Amy and Liam’s wedding day that made it extra special, in Cherry Valley.Their wedding color was one that we love and are surrounded by in our every day lives – a beautiful, yellowy-green. Amy’s bouquet has definitely ranked #1 of all the fall bouquets we have had the luxury of seeing. It was so organic and beautiful, and the aroma of oregano only added to its charm. It was the perfect blend of colors, textures, and fragrances that made it the perfect autumn bouquet. Their shoes were also some of my favorites too! This isn’t our first time at Glensfoot. We’ve actually been there 4 times now for 2 weddings, and 2 engagement sessions, and yet each time the property seems to take on the personality of who we’re there to photograph. It was wonderful seeing the Yellow Barn transformed into a cocktail lounge, and the Century Barn turned into a Cinema for the children to be entertained. We have wondered more than once if the walls could talk, what they might say.Amy and Liam took a relaxed and low-key approach to their wedding day. They left behind the worries of modern wedding traditions and embraced a day that was filled with family, friends, love, and togetherness.Dusty, the couple’s dog decided all on his own that he wanted to be a part of walking the bride down the…

Critz Farms Engagement Session, Cazenovia, NY ♥ Caitlin & Edmund

We are so happy to share Caitlin and Edmund’s Critz Farms Engagement Session! We got quite a giggle out of the fact that they were worried about looking awkward in their portraits, especially since they look so natural and fun! We had the farm to ourselves… well mostly. There were some pretty nosey animals, that just had to watch everything we were doing. The goats and the donkeys definitely made their presence known, and gave their approval while we worked. It was nice being able to have their session at a place they have enjoyed spending time at. And while it’s not quite time to start picking out Christmas trees, they sure did look pretty with Caitlin and Ed standing next to them.We finished up their session with a cool shot outside the barn. Their sweet silhouette behind them was a fun little bonus to what was already going to be a dramatic portrait! Thank you so much, Caitlin and Edmund, for spending your evening with us, while we played and had some fun on the farm. A big thank-you to Critz Farms for letting us come by, and giving us some wheels to get around! Really looking forward to working with you two again one year from tomorrow on your wedding day! Winery Wedding at Wagner Vineyards, Lodi, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

Alexa and Ryan’s winery wedding at Wagner Vineyards was our first wedding this year that actually felt like fall. It was just a year ago that we first visited Watkins Glen with the happy couple, along with Caly, for their engagement session. Alexa started the wedding day by getting dolled up at the New Image Hair Net Work in Watkins Glen… While Ryan was “pampered” at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. (Also, be sure to watch the highlight reel at the bottom for images of the “pampering”.)After all the ladies were finished with hair and makeup, they headed back to Alexa’s parents to get into their dresses, and help the bride get into hers. And the guys… well, they did more guy things. Near water. With alcohol.Alexa made an absolutely stunning bride! And “little” Miss Caly, who isn’t quite so little anymore, made an appearance all decked out in her own pearls, in some portraits with her “Mom”.Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Wagner Vineyards for their ceremony.A beautiful reception, catered by the staff at the Ginny Lee Cafe, right at Wagner, followed their heartwarming exchange of vows and rings. Not a slice of cake to be found at this wedding! Can’t have a fall wedding without a slice of an amazing assortment of pies, courtesy of The Village Bakery.A lot of dancing and epic moves were performed on the dance floor, made possible with music from Bill at Black Tie Entertainment. It was fantastic to finally work with Bill, who had remained “elusive” through the years…

Ithaca Engagement Session, Cornell Plantations and Myers Park ♥ Laura & Patrick

Engagement Sessions are our absolute favorite, and Laura and Patrick’s session in Ithaca was no exception! It was a warm and sunny autumn evening and the beautiful flower gardens at the Cornell Plantations gave us the perfect pops of color to spice up their portraits.   After some fun and romantic portraits at the plantations, we headed over to nearby Myers Park to get some sunset portraits by the lighthouse. The sky gave us a stunning array of colors to use as the backdrop for some silhouettes facing the west side of the fantastic Cayuga Lake. It was an absolutely awesome little adventure with you, Laura and Patrick! Thank you for tagging along with us, and making it a very enjoyable engagement session and sunset for us! We look forward to the wedding next year! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be sure to watch the video below for more highlight images from their session! Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion, Auburn, NY ♥ Shelley + Brandon

It’s been a little quiet on the blog, so let’s liven things up with Shelley and Brandon’s Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion! It it’s often that we don’t meet our couples in person before the wedding day, so when we arrived to photograph them, it was getting to meet them, and celebrate with them all at once! Both got ready with their bridal party and family near the beautiful Owasco Lake.Though they were in separate places, the pinning of the boutonnieres seemed to cause a little grief for everyone. I guess the ladies have it easy since they can just carry their flowers!Sneakers also were a bit of a challenge. It’s always good to use the buddy system, so fortunately there was a lot of help around to get the job done before heading to Emerson Park Pavilion.Shelley and Brandon exchanged vows overlooking the lake, surrounded by the beautiful trees and lots of friends and family.Though their first choice for a cake cutting utensil was shot down by the venue, a fill in meat cleaver did the job just fine. I don’t know that two people cutting a cake with a chainsaw would have been as easy to operate. Cake and cupcakes provided by Patisserie. Lots of dancing and merriment ensued following the meal, formal dances, and the cake cutting. The bridal party, guests and family had a blast moving to the tunes provided by DJ Brent PersiaWe took a few minutes to sneak away with the bride and groom for some portraits before the sun was gone,…

Fingerlakes Wedding at Club 86, Geneva NY ♥ Elizabeth + Michael

Elizabeth and Michael’s wedding at St. Stephen’s Church and Club 86 brought us back to the picturesque Seneca Lake area, this time at the top of the lake. When we met them almost a year ago, we ventured to the bottom of the lake at Watkins Glen, for their engagement session. It was one of the most perfect fall days, back then, but on their wedding day it sure was HOT. Thankful for the beautiful breezes off the lake, though, they never once complained about the weather – they were far too busy soaking up all the love and happiness that surrounded them on their beautiful day. The girls started out at the Studio Salon to have their hair done, while Michael stayed in his daily tradition of polishing his shoes. After their hair appointments, the ladies returned to the Ramada Inn, to have makeup applied by Kayla of Exquisite Skincare Spa.It wasn’t long before it was time to head to the church for the ceremony to begin. An emotional Liz and her father made their way down the aisle, to greet Michael who was beaming at the altar.A beautifully crafted unity cross was assembled by Liz and Mike, as an important symbol of their faith and commitment.Despite the fact that the thermometer in the church read 108 degrees, neither of them seemed to break a sweat, and were full of joy as they celebrated their nuptials. After the ceremony, we headed to the lake shore to get some formal photos, and take advantage of the breathtaking views, and let’s not kid…
