We are very excited to get to share this very special Star Lake wedding with you today! We had the pleasure of photographing Liz and Ricky last fall for their engagement session, and were eagerly awaiting their beautiful ceremony on the floating dock!
If you’re not familiar with Star Lake, it’s a very quaint lake nestled on the Northwest edge of Adirondack Park, where these two actually fell in love. So it made perfect sense for them to have their wedding celebration at the very location where their story began. When we arrived, it really felt as though we were embarking on a camping trip! Set on private property, it actually felt more like a summertime haven for those looking to relax in the great outdoors. Many perfect little cabins, wooded trails, and a perfect beach for their guests to witness the two exchange their vows.
Though the rain came through shortly before, it stopped precisely in time for their ceremony, held on the floating dock. The bride, escorted by her parents, arrived at the beach where the bridal party joined them. The rain held out long enough to see them through their ceremony, and formal photographs that followed.
But even better was what happened after the rain started again! They really weathered the storm so elegantly under the tent, with a fantastic dinner served up by the ever famous Dinosaur Bar-b-que! Feel free to be jealous, because the food was outstanding! Despite their full bellies, their family and friends had no problem rocking the dance floor through the night.…
