Cheryl + Michael = Married | Apple Orchard and Barn Wedding Photography at Indian Ladder Farms, Altamont NY

When you plan your wedding day, there is no question that a lot work goes into planning out all the details and making every aspect of the day special and unique.  When we met up with Cheryl and Mike, last year, they made it clear that their wedding was going to be very special, but never did we imagine that they would go to the lengths that they did to make such a perfect day for their guests! The couple went through great lengths to hand-make all the details for their day, starting with the bride and bridesmaids bouquets, which were absolutely exquisite! The bride’s bouquet alone took over 60 hours to make, which in our book is just one example of her dedication to making their day perfect!  The paper peony bouquets were made from heavyweight recycled paper as seen in the example here: Paper Peonies . They also made hanging lanterns using string and coffee filters, which created such a romantic and rustic environment for their reception. And kudos to you both for making everything look perfect! The day started out with some concern, as the bride and her maids began getting ready at the Holiday Inn, since the rain and thunderstorms seemed to go on for hours.  However, despite a few mishaps, and Mother Nature doing things her way, nothing dampened Cheryl’s spirits for such a special day. As the bus arrived to take the girls to Indian Ladder Farms, where the bride slipped into her flattering gown, the sun began to peek out from the clouds!…

Cheryl + Mike = Engaged | Engagement Photography at Indian Ladder Farms & Thacher Park Altamont & Voorheesville NY

This was the session that almost wasn’t! Cheryl and Mike had not originally planned on an Engagement Session, so when they contacted us to get one scheduled, we were nervous that we wouldn’t be able to work one in. BUT as luck would have it, they were available to meet with us the same weekend we would be in the Adirondacks with Caitlin and Nate! It could NOT have worked out any more perfect, since we turned it into an Engagement Extravaganza weekend! After our shoot at Lake Pleasant, we stayed the night at Lapland Lake, in Northville, NY in a cute little Tupa that we rented.  From there we drove to Altamont where met up with Cheryl and Mike at the Indian Ladder Farms. It was a very warm and humid day, but Cheryl and Mike were troopers and managed to make it through the session despite the weather! We found a quaint little spot under some trees right along the edge of the orchards, that provided us with a spectacular view of the mountainside. After a few glasses of wine and some apple carving, we wound up with some fun and whimsical portraits there, we traveled to Thacher State Park in Voorheesville, outside of Albany. The beautiful rock, and wooded paths made for some stunning photos. Congratulations on your engagement, Cheryl and Mike, and thank you for such a fun filled afternoon! We are excited to be a part of your special day, in only two more months! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg…
