Christiana and John’s wedding day was such a joyous event! Despite the heat and humidity that was present for yet another Central New York wedding, everything was perfect!
The day started out with the bride’s preparations at the historic Springside Inn, that neighbors the beautiful Owasco Lake, nestled in the Fingerlakes Region. We were most excited to get our first looks at the bride’s gown that morning. A one-of-a-kind, custom designed gown, complete with an exquisite lace bodice, and a shimmery organza skirt. It was built for a princess, and made by the talented hands of designer and close friend of the bride – Bobby Goodrich. On the hanger, the gown was fabulous, but nothing could prepare us for how breath-taking it looked when Christiana stepped into it, and zipped it up! She paired her gown with a double-stranded pearl necklace, adorned with an antique brooch style bloom, that she hand knotted herself, to make that perfect accent piece. And she topped it off with a simple and elegant, vintage cap-style, birdcage veil. It tied her look together, and Christiana was glowing! Once the bride and her girls were ready, we strolled down to the grounds of the Springside Inn, where we took some lovely photos of them together. For a moment, with the Springside, and it’s beautiful willow trees in the background, it almost felt as though we had time-traveled back to a by-gone era.
When we finally made our way to the Owasco Reformed Church, and stepped inside, it was very evident that Christiana and John had hand-selected the elements of their day, to fit perfectly together. The church was just what you may have expected. The 200 year old white church, was the perfect setting for their nuptials. After a beautiful ceremony, the bridal party ventured to Emerson Park in Auburn for some formal photos by the lake. We then returned to the Springside Inn, following the photos, to begin the celebratory dinner. A wonderful reception ensued, where the ring bearer and flower girl entertained the guests with dancing skills, well beyond their years! The John Spillet Band provided music for the evening. They also played alongside father of the bride, Barney, for a special performance as he played trombone for the newlyweds. We also decided to try out our hands at making a short video, to show the highlights of the day, as a little surprise for Christiana and John. No worries, we are not going to be videographers – just had some fun toying with technology. Enjoy our amateur video, but be kind – we’re just lowly photographers! 🙂
Christiana, and John, your day could not have been better, and it was an honor to be there for you, to capture all the special moments of your day. Thank you for selecting us to be there, and share along in the celebrating with you. You are a dynamic duo, and we wish you many, many years of love and happiness, and a long and fruitful life together!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
(With all good wishes)
