When you plan an engagement session for the spring, you hope for sunshine, warm weather, signs of new growth and plenty of birds. Well, we got one out of the bunch, so that’s cause for celebration! Can you guess which one it was? Rebecca and Svante loved the idea of having their session at Mendon Ponds. There are usually a plethora of birds who will joyfully eat seed from your hands. Well, there was no plethora for our session, but we did see a couple of birds. Or rather, I think the birds saw us. One particularly curious cardinal was very interested in watching them kiss. One brave little chickadee did decide to come pay a visit for some treats.
You can probably guess by their heavy winter coats that warm weather was not one of the spring attributes on their session day. We were thinking since there was even snow on the ground still, that we had earned a pretty sunset and that’s exactly what we got! Before heading over to Schoen Place for some night time shots, we did manage to get the nice surprise of a pretty sunset. A little champagne toast to their engagement and upcoming wedding was perfect for the sunset by the beach. While we’re sure they cuddled together out of love, we also think they may have done so because it was 23 degrees.
Rebecca and Svante have a spring wedding planned for next year. We will hope that Mother Nature is a tad more generous on that day than she was for their session! Thank you for braving the cold, and staying out late to treat us to a lovely dinner – it was a pleasure photographing you both!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
(With all good wishes)
