Wedding at Grace Chapel Skaneateles and Orchard Vali Lafayette ♥ Ayla + Christopher

In the world of wedding photographers, we always hope and pray that each couple will have a chance at perfect weather for their momentous day. Fingers crossed for that beautiful light that will make for the most amazing portraits. Mother Nature helps us with that by giving us either sunshine or a cloud softened light that flatters every bride and groom. But sometimes, even Mother Nature cannot compete with a light that comes from within. And that’s just what we had with Ayla and Christopher, as is plainly seen in their wedding photos. Back in December, we spent a fantastic day with them, in Niagara Falls, as we photographed their Engagement Session. It took only a few moments to pick up on the devotion and connection they have for one another. If you missed our blog post on that session, you can still view it here. After our adventure, we were very excited that in a few months we would be able to follow them along on their wedding day! The afternoon began with Ayla’s hair appointment with Stephanie at the quaint little Bijou Salon, nestled right in the village of Skaneateles. She selected an elegant curl infused up ‘do, which suited her perfectly. The sun was shining brightly, and a fantastic day was in store for the beautiful bride. After a quick trip back to the bride’s grandparents, an excited and loving family was found patiently awaiting her return. Ayla and her girls quickly slipped into their dresses and shoes, and out the door they flew to meet up…

Wedding at Key Hall at Proctors Schenectady ♥ Stefanie + Matt

There’s nothing better than getting to spend a little extra time with our clients. We call them clients, but more often than not, they feel more like friends after working with them for a year or more. Back in March, we spent the day with this adorable two-some, exploring some historic places and getting to know them, in Utica, NY. If you haven’t had the pleasure of “meeting” them yet, you can do so here! We were lucky enough to spend an evening and then a glorious day with Matt and Stefanie while they celebrated not only their love, but also their nuptials. Our first event of the 2013 wedding season began with a romantic candle-lit rehearsal dinner at the historic Van Dyck Restaurant and Lounge, nested in the beautiful Stockade District of Schenectady, New York. The bride and groom honored their guests and attendants with a delicious buffet-style meal, surrounded by the elegant lighting of candles held by a collection of wine bottles. After the meal the proud fathers offered their heartfelt speeches, and the bride and groom passed out gifts to their loved ones as a thank you for their love and support. The next day began with hair and makeup, followed by the final touches at the Hampton Inn. The guys casually got ready in their suite, while the ladies prepped for the big day in the suite directly above. Once the dresses were steamed and the ties were tied, the bride and groom were ready to make way to the exquisite St. Mary’s of Waterford. As…

Engagement Session at Dufferin Islands Park & Niagara Falls in Canada ♥ Ayla + Chris

What an adventure we had with Ayla and Christopher, the day we met for their E-Session! We LOVE to travel around, doing what we do, and have made trips out of state for sessions before, but this was the first time we ventured outside the country with a client! Our initial plan was to meet up on the American side of Niagara Falls at Three Sisters Islands, but some flooding made it impossible for us to do that. Instead, we decided that a trip to Niagara Falls in Canada was in order! But it was no surprise when the border patrol selected to do a search of our vehicle, since there is never a dull moment with us! After a short delay, we headed to Dufferin Islands Park, to get some snowy photos of this adorable twosome. They came prepared with a small sled to make for some really cute and fun pictures! From there we ventured closer to the falls, where the mist created some fantastic ice on the bare tree branches. Definitely something you don’t see every day! After a short break to thaw out, we got a bit closer to the falls. After sun sets, they illuminate the falls, and wow does it look so pretty in the winter! Christopher did a great job keeping Ayla warm, and smiling for their photos! We really had a great time with these two, despite the cold and getting a little bit wet!  Thanks for letting us tag along with you for the day, Ayla and Christopher! Best of luck…

Love the Falls in winter! Love the shot of the ring on the frozen branch… I bet after people see that, they’ll be copying it!

Wedding at Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse ♥ Meghan + Joshua

Our Great Adventure began with Meghan and Josh back in April, when we traveled down to Washington D.C, to shoot their E-Session. We enjoyed a fantastic weekend wandering around the National Mall, The Botanic Gardens, and The Jefferson Memorial, and chatting about plans for their big day. If you haven’t already, see their Engagement Portraits here. After having lots of time to bond with Meghan and Josh, we were very excited about being a part of their wedding day. The very talented Justin Mayer of Mayer Video accompanied us for the day, capturing the special moments and events on video. Colleen began with Meghan getting ready with her girls at her parents’ beautiful home, and Greg began with Josh getting ready with his diverse group of grooms-people at the popular Craftsman Inn, both in Fayetteville. A stunning Meghan and her girls rode to the First Presbyterian Church in Chittenango in style, aboard a limo bus, where a patient Josh waited with his attendants. Before the ceremony began, Meghan’s Grandmother made a special visit to see the bride, as her tearful granddaughters welcomed her, and were thankful for her being able to make their joyous event. Shortly after, Josh and Meghan took a few minutes to have some photos taken as they each stood, unable to see each other, on either side of the church entrance door. They held hands and prepared for the ceremony to begin with blown kisses through the door. The entrance music, handpicked by the couple and performed by special friends began as guests readied for their…

Jessika + Kirt = Married | Wedding photography at Bayshore Grove, Oswego, NY

Jessika and Kirt’s wedding plan included the beautiful, all-inclusive, waterfront Bayshore Grove in Oswego, NY. Their day began with fair skies, and spectacular weather! The perfect day to celebrate their love for one another! The ladies prepared for the day in Bayshore’s private bridal suite, only a few hundred feet from where they would exchange their vows under the pergola, over-looking the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario.  The gentlemen relaxed with a few drinks while the ladies got ready, and Jessika and Kirt’s young boys waited patiently for the big event where they would become a very special, blended family. The sound of the waves provided the perfect background music as the couple professed their love for each other, and their boys. A heirloom gold chain was given to each boy, by their parents to symbolize their love and devotion to them, and Jessika and Kirt did when they exchanged wedding rings. After the ceremony, the bridal party strolled out on the famous rocks that make Bayshore Grove such a unique wedding venue. There, they took their formal photos, with the guests watching nearby on the outdoor deck, as they enjoyed a few cocktails. Following the photos, the bridal party entered to start the party! Inside, Jessika and Kirt designed a fantastic theme of pink and black damask for their guests to enjoy. The tables were elegantly decorated, and a candy bar filled with sweet treats added to their fun and upbeat reception. A delicious buffet-style meal was served, and an afternoon of dancing and fun followed, with music provided…
