Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion, Auburn, NY ♥ Shelley + Brandon

It’s been a little quiet on the blog, so let’s liven things up with Shelley and Brandon’s Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion! It it’s often that we don’t meet our couples in person before the wedding day, so when we arrived to photograph them, it was getting to meet them, and celebrate with them all at once! Both got ready with their bridal party and family near the beautiful Owasco Lake.Though they were in separate places, the pinning of the boutonnieres seemed to cause a little grief for everyone. I guess the ladies have it easy since they can just carry their flowers!Sneakers also were a bit of a challenge. It’s always good to use the buddy system, so fortunately there was a lot of help around to get the job done before heading to Emerson Park Pavilion.Shelley and Brandon exchanged vows overlooking the lake, surrounded by the beautiful trees and lots of friends and family.Though their first choice for a cake cutting utensil was shot down by the venue, a fill in meat cleaver did the job just fine. I don’t know that two people cutting a cake with a chainsaw would have been as easy to operate. Cake and cupcakes provided by Patisserie. Lots of dancing and merriment ensued following the meal, formal dances, and the cake cutting. The bridal party, guests and family had a blast moving to the tunes provided by DJ Brent PersiaWe took a few minutes to sneak away with the bride and groom for some portraits before the sun was gone,…

Wedding at St. Stephen’s Church, Geneva, NY ♥ Danielle + Chris

When we met Danielle and Chris, we knew right away that we were going to love being their photographers! When they mentioned a New Year’s Eve wedding and celebration of the holiday, we had no idea what we were in store for, but we can tell you now that it was everything we had hoped for and more! We started out our day with a very relaxed Danielle, and her lovely ladies at the historic William Smith Inn, in Geneva. The perfect place to stay for your wedding, if you would like a warm welcome, and plenty of hospitality! The girls took an easy going approach to getting ready, and everything was calm and serene, until… the guys showed up. I think the actual party started before they even arrived. A fun-loving group, but in no way were they short on energy and laughs. We all picked up the pace to keep up with Chris and his boys, (and also because it was 20 degrees outside). After a sweet first look session, we got a chance to do it again, since the groom was wearing the wrong tie. Chris, your wife was on the money – tie number two was definitely the better choice! After cracking the whip on the boys, we got a few fun photos inside the inn, before heading out to take some formal shots of the two love birds and bridal party on the gorgeous Seneca Lake. When it was “go” time, there were no complaints to be heard about getting to St. Stephen’s Church to…

Christiana + John = Married | Wedding Photography at Owasco Reformed Church, Emerson Park & The Springside Inn Auburn NY

Christiana and John’s wedding day was such a joyous event! Despite the heat and humidity that was present for yet another Central New York wedding, everything was perfect! The day started out with the bride’s preparations at the historic Springside Inn, that neighbors the beautiful Owasco Lake, nestled in the Fingerlakes Region. We were most excited to get our first looks at the bride’s gown that morning. A one-of-a-kind, custom designed gown, complete with an exquisite lace bodice, and a shimmery organza skirt. It was built for a princess, and made by the talented hands of designer and close friend of the bride – Bobby Goodrich. On the hanger, the gown was fabulous, but nothing could prepare us for how breath-taking it looked when Christiana stepped into it, and zipped it up! She paired her gown with a double-stranded pearl necklace, adorned with an antique brooch style bloom, that she hand knotted herself, to make that perfect accent piece. And she topped it off with a simple and elegant, vintage cap-style, birdcage veil. It tied her look together, and Christiana was glowing! Once the bride and her girls were ready, we strolled down to the grounds of the Springside Inn, where we took some lovely photos of them together. For a moment, with the Springside, and it’s beautiful willow trees in the background, it almost felt as though we had time-traveled back to a by-gone era. When we finally made our way to the Owasco Reformed Church, and stepped inside, it was very evident that Christiana and John had hand-selected…
