Lourdes Camp Engagement Session, Skaneateles, NY ♥ Martha & CJ

We just adored Martha and CJ’s engagement session at Lourdes Camp, in Skaneateles! It was a delightful fall afternoon and the perfect place to have their session, with all of the leaves changing colors!Lourdes Camp is situated right on Skaneateles Lake at Tenmile Point, where the scenic views from the beach are just breathtaking! They brought along their cute, furry little friend, “Boo”, who totally wanted to steal all the thunder away from them, right from the very start! He tried so hard, too! He was just so cute, that we couldn’t help but let him have a little bit of attention. The dry summer that turned into fall left the creek bed nice and dry – a perfect place to put these love birds for a portrait! Boo really didn’t give up on being the center of attention. In fact, he even upped his game as the session went on. But, Martha and CJ still managed to keep in a romantic mood despite the antics of their four-legged fur baby. Especially with the campfire, and some cuddles to keep them warm. Our time with them came to a close when the skies opened up and the rain that threatened the session all day finally made an appearance. But we didn’t mind a bit! What an awesome session this was, Marth and CJ (and Boo, too)! We really had a great time, and the two (or three) of you were so easy to work with! We are eager to be there with you again next year for the wedding! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all…

Ventosa Vineyards Engagement Session, Geneva, NY ♥ Lisa & Casey

Lisa and Casey’s engagement session started out at the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards, in Geneva. It was such a lovely autumn day and we had the vineyards all to ourselves, overlooking the sparkling Seneca Lake!Well, almost! This little fella wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After a few close ups, he let us get back to work. The pretty blue skies, and the golden autumn sun helped make some very pretty portraits!Oh, and we couldn’t leave without a photo of the donkeys. The kept their eyes on us to make sure we were doing a good job. After we left the vineyards, we headed over to Sampson State Park where Teddy joined us for a few portraits by the lake.It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, even though it was pretty cold at the end. We had a wonderful time with you three, Lisa and Casey, and we are super excited for your wedding next year! It’s going to be fabulous! Winery Wedding at Wagner Vineyards, Lodi, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

Alexa and Ryan’s winery wedding at Wagner Vineyards was our first wedding this year that actually felt like fall. It was just a year ago that we first visited Watkins Glen with the happy couple, along with Caly, for their engagement session. Alexa started the wedding day by getting dolled up at the New Image Hair Net Work in Watkins Glen… While Ryan was “pampered” at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. (Also, be sure to watch the highlight reel at the bottom for images of the “pampering”.)After all the ladies were finished with hair and makeup, they headed back to Alexa’s parents to get into their dresses, and help the bride get into hers. And the guys… well, they did more guy things. Near water. With alcohol.Alexa made an absolutely stunning bride! And “little” Miss Caly, who isn’t quite so little anymore, made an appearance all decked out in her own pearls, in some portraits with her “Mom”.Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Wagner Vineyards for their ceremony.A beautiful reception, catered by the staff at the Ginny Lee Cafe, right at Wagner, followed their heartwarming exchange of vows and rings. Not a slice of cake to be found at this wedding! Can’t have a fall wedding without a slice of an amazing assortment of pies, courtesy of The Village Bakery.A lot of dancing and epic moves were performed on the dance floor, made possible with music from Bill at Black Tie Entertainment. It was fantastic to finally work with Bill, who had remained “elusive” through the years…

Ithaca Engagement Session, Cornell Plantations and Myers Park ♥ Laura & Patrick

Engagement Sessions are our absolute favorite, and Laura and Patrick’s session in Ithaca was no exception! It was a warm and sunny autumn evening and the beautiful flower gardens at the Cornell Plantations gave us the perfect pops of color to spice up their portraits.   After some fun and romantic portraits at the plantations, we headed over to nearby Myers Park to get some sunset portraits by the lighthouse. The sky gave us a stunning array of colors to use as the backdrop for some silhouettes facing the west side of the fantastic Cayuga Lake. It was an absolutely awesome little adventure with you, Laura and Patrick! Thank you for tagging along with us, and making it a very enjoyable engagement session and sunset for us! We look forward to the wedding next year! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be sure to watch the video below for more highlight images from their session! Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion, Auburn, NY ♥ Shelley + Brandon

It’s been a little quiet on the blog, so let’s liven things up with Shelley and Brandon’s Owasco Lake Wedding at Emerson Park Pavilion! It it’s often that we don’t meet our couples in person before the wedding day, so when we arrived to photograph them, it was getting to meet them, and celebrate with them all at once! Both got ready with their bridal party and family near the beautiful Owasco Lake.Though they were in separate places, the pinning of the boutonnieres seemed to cause a little grief for everyone. I guess the ladies have it easy since they can just carry their flowers!Sneakers also were a bit of a challenge. It’s always good to use the buddy system, so fortunately there was a lot of help around to get the job done before heading to Emerson Park Pavilion.Shelley and Brandon exchanged vows overlooking the lake, surrounded by the beautiful trees and lots of friends and family.Though their first choice for a cake cutting utensil was shot down by the venue, a fill in meat cleaver did the job just fine. I don’t know that two people cutting a cake with a chainsaw would have been as easy to operate. Cake and cupcakes provided by Patisserie. Lots of dancing and merriment ensued following the meal, formal dances, and the cake cutting. The bridal party, guests and family had a blast moving to the tunes provided by DJ Brent PersiaWe took a few minutes to sneak away with the bride and groom for some portraits before the sun was gone,…

Fingerlakes Wedding at Club 86, Geneva NY ♥ Elizabeth + Michael

Elizabeth and Michael’s wedding at St. Stephen’s Church and Club 86 brought us back to the picturesque Seneca Lake area, this time at the top of the lake. When we met them almost a year ago, we ventured to the bottom of the lake at Watkins Glen, for their engagement session. It was one of the most perfect fall days, back then, but on their wedding day it sure was HOT. Thankful for the beautiful breezes off the lake, though, they never once complained about the weather – they were far too busy soaking up all the love and happiness that surrounded them on their beautiful day. The girls started out at the Studio Salon to have their hair done, while Michael stayed in his daily tradition of polishing his shoes. After their hair appointments, the ladies returned to the Ramada Inn, to have makeup applied by Kayla of Exquisite Skincare Spa.It wasn’t long before it was time to head to the church for the ceremony to begin. An emotional Liz and her father made their way down the aisle, to greet Michael who was beaming at the altar.A beautifully crafted unity cross was assembled by Liz and Mike, as an important symbol of their faith and commitment.Despite the fact that the thermometer in the church read 108 degrees, neither of them seemed to break a sweat, and were full of joy as they celebrated their nuptials. After the ceremony, we headed to the lake shore to get some formal photos, and take advantage of the breathtaking views, and let’s not kid…

Lakeside Wedding at Bristol Harbour Resort, Canandaigua NY ♥ Caitlin + John

Caitlin and John’s lakeside wedding at the Bristol Harbour Resort, in Canandaigua was the kind that fairy tales are made of. Caitlin reached out to us after being referred from clients who had recently gotten married. The irony was, that same client also referred us to another friend named Kaitlyn who also was getting married on the same day. After a few enjoyable chats with her, however, Caitlin got to us first. Kaitlyn, if you’re out there reading this, we hope that your wedding day was fabulous! Soon afterward, we got the pleasure of meeting John when we had their engagement session, by the same breath-taking lake. We really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them, getting to know them, and watching them kill a bottle of wine in record time. If you missed seeing their engagement portraits, you can look back and enjoy them here. Caitlin got ready in one of the adorable, little cottages on site at the resort, with fantastic views overlooking the lake. John spent his preparation time in one of the rustic rooms in the hotel. The gift of two fragrant, snow-white gladiola arrangements were sent to Caitlin on the morning of the wedding, which made the perfect addition to their reception decor. One of the most precious moments for a mother is being a part of their daughter’s wedding day. These radiant ladies looked so stunning, these portraits could not be passed up, before we headed over for the first look. We were taking bets (no, not really) on whether John would shed some tears…

Engagement Session at Beaver Lake, Baldwinsville, NY ♥ Heather + Adam

It was the perfect night for an engagement session at Beaver Lake. Sounds kind of like the opening line of a cheesy mystery novel, but rather than being fiction, it’s 100% accurate. Let’s be honest though, Heather and Adam were not completely sold on the idea of even having one at first. And this one, once it was actually on the books, almost got canceled. Mother Nature can, and will dish out whatever kind of weather she darn well feels like. The day of Heather and Adam’s session, a huge storm cell was making it’s way across Central New York. While weather really doesn’t scare us off much, it did look like it was going to be a complete washout. Fearing that a session at Beaver Lake would yield nothing but soggy results, we called and left a message that maybe it might be a good idea to consider rescheduling. That was a call we were not too eager to make, since in all of our six years, we’ve had this many engagement session reschedules: 0. Yup, zero. Even on days that it’s rained, the precipitation has stopped long enough to complete our sessions, and then delivered the absolute most beautiful sunsets. And well, this time was no different. A couple of hours later, after completely obsessing over the Doppler, we made another call to renege. Thankfully, Heather was completely on board to keep the session time, and we went ahead as originally planned. Sometimes, the term “engagement session” scares people into thinking that it’s going to be some rigid…

Engagement Session at Green Lakes, Fayetteville, NY ♥ Ashley + Matt

Ashley and Matt’s engagement session at Green Lakes is a perfect example of why we are always so busy in the fall! The amazing colors of autumn are so sought-after, that people will drive from all over the country for an opportunity to have their session with the backdrop of the fall foliage! Sometimes, however, even though it looks spectacular, you can’t tell in the photos that is was absolutely freezing! In fact, Ashley an Matt left the warmer temperatures of their home state to find snow on their way into New York. If you look closely at Greg’s mugshot here, you will see a few white flakes that were  floating around as we waited for Ashley and Matt to begin their session. We don’t always look cute when shooting an engagement session, but when we do, we’re wearing camo winter-wear! 🙂 Thankfully, they went away pretty quickly, because who is ready for that stuff? It didn’t warm up much, but it gave Ashley and Matt plenty of reason to be cuddly during their session! Green Lakes has so much to offer for a portrait session, and we did our best to hit up all the cool spots before their session ended. It was nice to get a little exercise, too, as we trekked around the lake. We made a complete loop around Green Lake, and made a quick stop off to Round Lake for a few portraits there. The trees at Round Lake were especially vibrant in color, and was a nice place for the lovebirds to stop and…

Wedding at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Syracuse, NY ♥ Colleen + Michael

Colleen and Michael’s wedding at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was fit for a King and Queen! You may remember back to the beginning of summer, when we photographed their engagement session right in heart of the city! We were really looking forward to their wedding, and we didn’t have long to wait! Colleen and Colleen (haha, we’ve been waiting to do that!) met up at Hair it is! for some photos of the ladies getting their hair and makeup done. Following that, we headed back to the bride’s parents home, for Colleen to get a special makeup application done by Makeup artist Angel Kennedy. Meanwhile, Greg met up with Michael and his groomsmen at the Cresthill Suites. When the Bride and Groom-to-be were dressed and ready to take their vows, we headed to the beautiful Cathedral where Monsignor Neal Quartier performed a very heartwarming ceremony. Once Colleen and Michael were officially husband and wife, we headed out to the gardens following their family portraits, for a few shots before heading out. After a short drive, we arrived at the Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club for their cocktail hour and reception. Before the guests began to arrive, we took some time to get a few more portraits with family and friends, and of course, the lovely Mister and Missus. The weather was absolutely perfect, and a warm, breezy, lakeside cocktail hour was enjoyed by all. Before long, it was time for introductions, and Colleen and Michael dazzled their guests with a perfectly choreographed first dance. After speeches, the guests…

Engagement Session in Skaneateles, NY ♥ Nikki + Kevin

Our epic weekend concluded with an engagement session for Nikki & Kevin, at Nine Mile Creek, and Skaneateles Lake, with their sassy Golden Retriever, Arya! Nikki and Kevin are the proud parents of such a beautiful fur-kid, so when they asked to include her in their engagement session, there was absolutely no doubt that she SHOULD be there! As proud pet-owners ourselves, we know how much pets seem more like family than they do just an animal to take care of. When we saw Nikki and Kevin interacting with Arya, we knew she was more like their baby, then she was “just a dog”. Ironically, Kevin casually mentioned that he would like a portrait of just Arya, “since the family loved her more than they did him”! We don’t know about that, but we do know that Arya was very photogenic, and had zero qualms about being in a portrait all by herself. We started their session at the peaceful Nine Mile Creek, where the natural, woodsy backdrop provided a great spot for some portraits, and later a fantastic opportunity for Arya to get her paws wet! After a dip in the creek, we said “goodbye” to our new four-legged friend, and headed off to Skaneateles Lake for some pictures of “Mom and Dad” alone. When we arrived, we started out at Shotwell Memorial Park, and got some photographs with the resident ducks, and by the water fountain. As the sun began to set, we took a short walk over to the pier that overlooks the crystal clear Skaneateles Lake.…
