Ventosa Vineyards Engagement Session, Geneva, NY ♥ Lisa & Casey

Lisa and Casey’s engagement session started out at the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards, in Geneva. It was such a lovely autumn day and we had the vineyards all to ourselves, overlooking the sparkling Seneca Lake!Well, almost! This little fella wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After a few close ups, he let us get back to work. The pretty blue skies, and the golden autumn sun helped make some very pretty portraits!Oh, and we couldn’t leave without a photo of the donkeys. The kept their eyes on us to make sure we were doing a good job. After we left the vineyards, we headed over to Sampson State Park where Teddy joined us for a few portraits by the lake.It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, even though it was pretty cold at the end. We had a wonderful time with you three, Lisa and Casey, and we are super excited for your wedding next year! It’s going to be fabulous! Elmwood and Onondaga Parks Engagement Session, Syracuse, NY ♥ Lauren & Dan

Lauren and Dan’s Elmwood and Onondaga Parks engagement session was just perfect on a lovely autumn day in Syracuse. Native to Syracuse, Lauren and Dan felt right at home at our first stop in Elmwood Park. With a shortage of rainfall this summer, the water levels in the creek were nice and low so we took advantage and went right down into the creek bed for some portraits. In addition to its pretty creek, the stone steps are another beautiful feature of Elmwood. We then took the short drive over to Upper Onondaga Park.Well-known for its pond, and gazebo, the park made the front of many postcards. We think that Lauren and Dan made the park look pretty good that day, and would make a nice postcard all on their own!Ahh, the beautiful sunlight! Most people seek the variety of colors that the foliage brings in the fall. As photographers, the colors are lovely, but the true beauty is that warm, romantic sunlight. It makes even a black and white photograph “shine”.And of course, who could “overlook” the views of the city, and the iconic Carrier Dome? Nothing like being able to capture a portrait in front of a city you know and love so well and these guys looked pretty adorable doing it! Thank you for hanging out with us for the afternoon, Lauren and Dan! And for choosing us to join you on your wedding journey! We look forward to being there for the big day next summer! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be…

Ithaca Engagement Session, Cornell Plantations and Myers Park ♥ Laura & Patrick

Engagement Sessions are our absolute favorite, and Laura and Patrick’s session in Ithaca was no exception! It was a warm and sunny autumn evening and the beautiful flower gardens at the Cornell Plantations gave us the perfect pops of color to spice up their portraits.   After some fun and romantic portraits at the plantations, we headed over to nearby Myers Park to get some sunset portraits by the lighthouse. The sky gave us a stunning array of colors to use as the backdrop for some silhouettes facing the west side of the fantastic Cayuga Lake. It was an absolutely awesome little adventure with you, Laura and Patrick! Thank you for tagging along with us, and making it a very enjoyable engagement session and sunset for us! We look forward to the wedding next year! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be sure to watch the video below for more highlight images from their session! Wedding at Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club, Cicero, NY ♥ Kelly + Joe

Kelly and Joe had an absolutely perfect wedding day at Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club! Every now and again, we book with a client that we don’t have the luxury of meeting before their wedding day. But even though we never got the pleasure of a handshake before their big day, Kelly and Joe greeted us with the friendliest of smiles, and went along with all of our suggestions and ideas. They couldn’t have been any easier to work with, and we enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end! Kelly and her bridesmaids got ready right at Lakeshore, while Joe got ready with his groomsmen at Comfort Inn and Suites in Cicero. They set aside a special moment for Kelly’s dad and Joe’s mom to see them for the first time before it was time to say their “I do’s”. Their tearful first looks lead way to a beautiful ceremony with speeches from both moms about the couple and their history together. Following the ceremony and family portraits, we wandered around the club to get some photos with the bridal party, and Kelly and Joe. The docks made a perfect place for their attendants to let their personalities show through! We finished up and headed into the ball room for their first dance, family dances, and toasts, before a very tasty buffet meal was served – fit for the King and Queen. Before the real party began, we stole the Bride and Groom away for some sunset portraits by the shore. Once the party got started, it didn’t let up! The…

Engagement Session at Ontario Orchards & McIntyre’s Bluff, Oswego, NY ♥ Alice + Chris

We could not be happier to share Alice and Chris’ engagement session at Ontario Orchards and McIntyre’s Bluff with you! These two are among the sweetest couples we have worked with, and it was hard to keep from smiling while we were working on their images. A couple of fun facts for you before you swoon over them – Chris and Colleen met somewhere around 2002 when they worked together. Chris was still a bit wet behind the ears back then, but was a trip to work with. So, we have known each other for a while. Chris also came into the lighting studio at OCC and modeled for an assignment that Greg was working on for Class. Roughly four years later, Greg and Colleen got married in that very lighting studio, and on the same day, Chris asked Alice to marry him! So that brings us to their engagement session, and how honored we are to be working with these two! They really are a perfect match! We started their session at Ontario Orchards, where they picked a few apples, had a few laughs, and Alice got to teach Chris how to dip (leading by example). Judging by the photos, we think Alice did a better job, and that Chris may need to get some dance lessons before the wedding! After leaving the orchards, we grabbed a few more portraits in the field, before heading off to McIntyre’s Bluff for the sunset. After the sun went down, we followed them onto the beach for some romantic blue hour portraits,…

Adirondacks Wedding at Camp Fowler in Speculator & Lake Pleasant ♥ Caitlin + Nate

Caitlin and Nate’s big day was one we were especially looking forward to this year! Their selection of an Adirondack venue for their wedding was so full of potential, that we could hardly wait to see what it looked like, decorated with love! What a fantastic place to have a wedding, nestled in the quiet woods, using the natural beauty as your backdrop! We met up with the couple in June, for their E Session, not far from where they exchanged vows in the town of Speculator, NY. If you haven’t already, see their Engagement Photos here. Their special day began with the girls getting ready at the Lake Pleasant Lodge, overlooking the spectacular Lake Pleasant.  The gentlemen got ready at the groom’s parents’ beautiful log cabin home, just across the lake. As the ladies got the royal treatment of hair and makeup, we watched out the window at the dramatic sky, as threat of a tornado continued to worry many folks throughout the morning. Not the Dads, though! They were too busy ironing to worry! Greg and Colleen, however, never spent a moment worrying about Mother Nature. Before long it was time to shuffle off to the ceremony location, at the woodsy Camp Fowler tucked away in the woods between the Sacandaga Lake and Lake Pleasant. Having taken a small tour of the ceremony spot and the impressive Fenimore Hall back in June, we were nothing less than amazed at the fantastic job that Caitlin and Nate, along with their team, did at decorating for their celebration! The wooded…

In the middle of the blog you can listen to the song Nate wrote and recorded for Caitlyn. She heard it for the first time as they danced to it at the wedding….very romantic.

Leuenberger Family | Family Portrait Photography At Lorenzo State Historic Site, Cazenovia NY

As photographers, we really value the opportunity to try out new places to photograph. So when Christina contacted us looking for a unique and fun place to take their family portraits, we were very excited! Being as interested in historical places are we are, we loved the idea of touring the mansion at the Lorenzo State Historic Site, nestled in beautiful Cazenovia, New York. Photos are only allowed outside the mansion, on the beautifully manicured grounds and gardens, but we decided to take the tour inside first. What a great place, inside and out! Full of history and beautiful backdrops for their photos, we had a variety great spots to choose from! Christina and Bob had fun trying to keep the four rowdy boys in line, resulting in very natural, and genuine portraits! Thanks guys for such a fun shoot, we had a great time!  …
