Knapp Winery Wedding, Romulus, NY ♥ Maggie + John

Maggie and John’s wedding at Knapp Winery was one we won’t soon forget! It was a perfect summer day with the most beautiful blue skies and, white, billowy clouds. Their intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends was extra special and befitting for such a sweet couple. They walked to their ceremony location in the field hand-in-hand, and met their friends who officiated the ceremony in the center of a circle made of beautiful flowers. A short, but sweet ceremony was followed by a romantic, sun-lit dinner beside the vineyards. The meal and dessert fit for a king was served to their guests as the golden sun set behind them. We wrapped up the evening with a few portraits in the vineyard and by the pond. Ceremony: Knapp Winery Reception and Catering: Executive Chef John McNabb – Knapp Winery Officiant: Ali Churchman and Josh Piejko Thank you, Maggie and John, for inviting us to be a part of your heartwarming wedding celebration! It was such a pleasure being there to capture such an important day in your lives! We wish you all the best, and many happy years of marriage! Katie and Ali chose the perfect day for their wedding at Colloca Estate Winery! A warm and sunny day led the way for their beautiful ceremony by the lake, and a breezy evening made the perfect setting for lots of dancing and merriment! We enjoyed our first visit to Colloca, and exploring the grounds for some great portrait locations with the happy couple. It was also our first time getting to work with Stephanie and Marybeth of Video Network, Inc, and a pleasurable return to working with Kirk of Select Receptions, who kept the guests dancing all night long! Ventosa Vineyards Engagement Session, Geneva, NY ♥ Lisa & Casey

Lisa and Casey’s engagement session started out at the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards, in Geneva. It was such a lovely autumn day and we had the vineyards all to ourselves, overlooking the sparkling Seneca Lake!Well, almost! This little fella wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After a few close ups, he let us get back to work. The pretty blue skies, and the golden autumn sun helped make some very pretty portraits!Oh, and we couldn’t leave without a photo of the donkeys. The kept their eyes on us to make sure we were doing a good job. After we left the vineyards, we headed over to Sampson State Park where Teddy joined us for a few portraits by the lake.It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, even though it was pretty cold at the end. We had a wonderful time with you three, Lisa and Casey, and we are super excited for your wedding next year! It’s going to be fabulous! Winery Wedding at Wagner Vineyards, Lodi, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

Alexa and Ryan’s winery wedding at Wagner Vineyards was our first wedding this year that actually felt like fall. It was just a year ago that we first visited Watkins Glen with the happy couple, along with Caly, for their engagement session. Alexa started the wedding day by getting dolled up at the New Image Hair Net Work in Watkins Glen… While Ryan was “pampered” at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. (Also, be sure to watch the highlight reel at the bottom for images of the “pampering”.)After all the ladies were finished with hair and makeup, they headed back to Alexa’s parents to get into their dresses, and help the bride get into hers. And the guys… well, they did more guy things. Near water. With alcohol.Alexa made an absolutely stunning bride! And “little” Miss Caly, who isn’t quite so little anymore, made an appearance all decked out in her own pearls, in some portraits with her “Mom”.Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Wagner Vineyards for their ceremony.A beautiful reception, catered by the staff at the Ginny Lee Cafe, right at Wagner, followed their heartwarming exchange of vows and rings. Not a slice of cake to be found at this wedding! Can’t have a fall wedding without a slice of an amazing assortment of pies, courtesy of The Village Bakery.A lot of dancing and epic moves were performed on the dance floor, made possible with music from Bill at Black Tie Entertainment. It was fantastic to finally work with Bill, who had remained “elusive” through the years…

Engagement Session at Canandaigua Lake, NY ♥ Caitlin + John

Caitlin and John’s engagement session at Canandaigua Lake kicked off a great weekend for us! We had no idea just how amazing the views would be when we got there, so we were pretty excited as we neared the lake. We started their session at a private family lake cottage, where a short trail made way to a quiet little creek. We took some photographs inside the creek bed, and by the colorful blooms of the black-eyed Susans, before we had to chase the light with a short drive to the beach. After cracking open a bottle of wine, and and enjoying the spectacular blue water and skies, Caitlin and John hopped in the canoe for a few more photographs to capture the beauty that surrounded us. After a few glasses (or a bottle) of wine, we try to be careful what we jokingly suggest to our couples. Though sometimes it makes for humorous photographs like the one of John almost throwing Caitlin into the water! *Note: No brides-to-be were harmed, or took unexpected dips into the lake during this engagement session. Following our session, Caitlin and John invited us to join them for some grub. We kicked back with some seriously delicious Chicken Wing Pizza at Pontillo’s, and chatted for a bit before heading out. Guys, to say you were fun to work with, would be an understatement! We’re so glad you decided to have your session at the lake, it couldn’t have been more perfect! Thank you for treating us to dinner, it was a pleasure getting extra…

Engagement Session at Keuka Lake, NY ♥ Stefanie + Jason

It was the loveliest of days on Keuka Lake when we met up with Stefanie and Jason for their engagement session! And today marks exactly one year until these two say their “I do’s”, so we definitely are excited to share their session with you today! We started their session at the beautiful Keuka Lake State Park, where it was sunny and breezy, and just the right temperature for their session. We were right on the lake, so the breezes at times felt more like gusts, but Stefanie and Jason took it in stride and ventured out onto the dock for a few windy portraits. We wandered around the park, taking in all of the natural beauty, and captured some colorful photos around the nearby purple wildflowers. A perfect compliment to Stefanie’s pretty aqua dress. After that we packed up and headed off to Keuka Spring Winery for the sunset. As Stefanie and Jason unpacked a little picnic, the sun lazily began to descend, giving us the most breathtaking views for the second half of their session. It was the perfect spot to watch the sunset, and gave us an amazing Golden Hour for their portraits. We had the place all to ourselves, and stayed until the sun had disappeared from view, for a few fun night shots by the wine barrels, and the veranda. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening for them! Thank you so much, Stefanie and Jason, for being such good sports and trusting in us to create a fun and beautiful gallery of engagement…

Engagement Session at Ontario Orchards & McIntyre’s Bluff, Oswego, NY ♥ Alice + Chris

We could not be happier to share Alice and Chris’ engagement session at Ontario Orchards and McIntyre’s Bluff with you! These two are among the sweetest couples we have worked with, and it was hard to keep from smiling while we were working on their images. A couple of fun facts for you before you swoon over them – Chris and Colleen met somewhere around 2002 when they worked together. Chris was still a bit wet behind the ears back then, but was a trip to work with. So, we have known each other for a while. Chris also came into the lighting studio at OCC and modeled for an assignment that Greg was working on for Class. Roughly four years later, Greg and Colleen got married in that very lighting studio, and on the same day, Chris asked Alice to marry him! So that brings us to their engagement session, and how honored we are to be working with these two! They really are a perfect match! We started their session at Ontario Orchards, where they picked a few apples, had a few laughs, and Alice got to teach Chris how to dip (leading by example). Judging by the photos, we think Alice did a better job, and that Chris may need to get some dance lessons before the wedding! After leaving the orchards, we grabbed a few more portraits in the field, before heading off to McIntyre’s Bluff for the sunset. After the sun went down, we followed them onto the beach for some romantic blue hour portraits,…

Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca ♥ Sarah + Mike – Part One

Let’s start off this blog post with a bit of honesty. This has been one of the most agonizing blog posts that we have had to compile, ever. This couple had a wedding day for the books, in being so awesome, with so many memorable and touching moments from beginning to end. Which inevitably made it very difficult to narrow down our favorite images that highlighted the day. So for the first time, we are going to do something different, by blogging not one, but TWO parts to represent everything awesome that was Sarah and Mike’s wedding! It was never a doubt for us that Sarah and Mike would have an absolutely awesome wedding day. When we met them for the first time almost exactly a year ago, we traveled to Jersey City for their engagement session. There we also had the pleasure of meeting their four-legged roommate; the lovable Skippy! We really enjoyed getting to bond with them, and see just how perfect they are for each other. If you missed the blog post on their E-Session, you can enjoy it here. Every couple, and every wedding is unique and special in its own way, but we were particularly impressed by Mike’s involvement in the planning, and how dedicated they both were to making their day tailored especially to them! Their day started at the historic Benn Conger Inn, in Groton, where Mike and his groomsmen readied inside the main house. Sarah, Skippy, and her bridesmaids prepared for the day in the beautiful, Victorian cottage right next door. It…

Engagement Session at Highland Forest, Fabius, NY ♥ Rachael + Nathan

Following a week with temperatures in the upper 80’s and lots of sunshine, 56 degrees felt super cold, but Rachael and Nathan managed to warm things up for our session at Highland Forest, with their adorable smiles. It doesn’t get too much cuter than these two! They decided to have their Engagement session in the same location where Nathan proposed… without all the snow! We started our session with a lovely picnic in the woods, where they set up such a cozy spot for a little snack and some cuddle time. We definitely picked a great spot where they were able to kick back and relax while we snapped away. Rachael got a chance to show off not only her engagement ring from Nathan, but also the family heirloom engagement ring given to her by Nathan’s mom. We thought that was an especially sweet way to welcome her into the family! After a quick change into some warmer clothes, the sun came out, as if on cue. It was great to get a chance for some warm and sunny shots of them before our session ended. Though it was a little cold, it was a fantastic location, and we hope it brought back some memories from your engagement. What a great time we had with them, and we are anxiously awaiting their wedding day, and some warmer weather this summer! Le gach dea-ghuí,(With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg…

Engagement Session in Jersey City ♥ Mike + Sarah

If you hadn’t guessed by now, Greg and Colleen are big fans of travel! Getting a change of scenery, and photographing their clients outside of Central New York is one of their favorite things to do, so when asked, we will almost always try to accommodate! Recently, we had the pleasure of working with new clients Mike and Sarah, in a city near and dear to them; Jersey City! We met up with the amorous couple, and their friendly pup, Skippy, to photograph them in celebration of their engagement, and upcoming wedding. It was beautiful day, just perfect with sunshine and mild temperatures. Skippy was very happy to tag along with us for a few pictures at Hamilton Park, across from their quaint little apartment. After a walk around the park, a restrained Skippy had all he could do from chasing all the park squirrels up the trees! He managed to contain himself long enough for us to get a few great shots of his “parents” outside the picturesque brownstones that framed the perimeter of the park. After a few treats, we bid farewell to our new four-legged friend, as we followed Mike and Sarah to the historic Powerhouse Arts District for a more quiet and urban setting for portraits. The brick, cobblestone streets, rusty steel, and graffiti laden buildings provided a fantastic scene for us to encapsulate their bond into their portraits. We then took a short drive, to the Liberty State Park where we got some shots of them with the impressive Freedom Tower, and the pretty New…

Cheryl + Mike = Engaged | Engagement Photography at Indian Ladder Farms & Thacher Park Altamont & Voorheesville NY

This was the session that almost wasn’t! Cheryl and Mike had not originally planned on an Engagement Session, so when they contacted us to get one scheduled, we were nervous that we wouldn’t be able to work one in. BUT as luck would have it, they were available to meet with us the same weekend we would be in the Adirondacks with Caitlin and Nate! It could NOT have worked out any more perfect, since we turned it into an Engagement Extravaganza weekend! After our shoot at Lake Pleasant, we stayed the night at Lapland Lake, in Northville, NY in a cute little Tupa that we rented.  From there we drove to Altamont where met up with Cheryl and Mike at the Indian Ladder Farms. It was a very warm and humid day, but Cheryl and Mike were troopers and managed to make it through the session despite the weather! We found a quaint little spot under some trees right along the edge of the orchards, that provided us with a spectacular view of the mountainside. After a few glasses of wine and some apple carving, we wound up with some fun and whimsical portraits there, we traveled to Thacher State Park in Voorheesville, outside of Albany. The beautiful rock, and wooded paths made for some stunning photos. Congratulations on your engagement, Cheryl and Mike, and thank you for such a fun filled afternoon! We are excited to be a part of your special day, in only two more months! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg…
