Timberlodge at Arrowhead Golf Club Wedding, Akron, NY ♥ Samantha + Ken

Samantha and Ken’s wedding at Timberlodge was a bittersweet end to our 2016 wedding season. Sam and Ken came to us just over a year ago looking for their wedding photographer, and we knew instantly that would love to have them as our clients. They dazzled us with their sweet love for each other when they met us in Lake George for their engagement session last October. One year later, we met them in Buffalo at the Spring Hill Suites as they readied for what would be an amazing wedding day!Samantha and her ladies were lucky to have the talents of Eva Jewel for their makeup application, and Sue Baker for their hair styling. All of them looked fantastic! Her stunning florals were courtesy of the talents of  I Do Weddings Florist.Their ceremony at St. Amelia’s Roman Catholic Church was followed by an amazing cocktail hour despite the windy chill outside!Sam and Ken’s day was perfect, not one raindrop fell from the sky, while Syracuse and the eastern part of the state suffered through rain and even snow!Sam and Ken worked really hard at putting so much into every single detail of their wedding. And it showed! And their families were absolutely overjoyed by being there to celebrate their day.Saxman Slim knocked it out of the park with his sax, and with his song choices for the evening. There was no spare room on the dancefloor at any given time. They ended the night with a s’mores bar, and a few romantic kisses by the gazebo.Sam and Ken, the two of you…

Dibbles Inn Wedding, Vernon, NY ♥ Heather + Adam

Heather and Adam’s wedding at the Dibble’s Inn in Vernon, was such a blast! These two were such a fun and laid back couple to work with, and their wedding was just as fun and laid back as they were! We were pretty excited to hear that Heather was even going to coordinate her hair color with her wedding decor! Nikki from Euforium can be thanked for her amazing color and wedding day coiffure. We knew probably in the first 15 minutes of meeting Heather and Adam that we were going to be a good fit. All 15 minutes were taken up by conversing about cats. One crazy cat lady always recognizes another! On their wedding day, Heather and Adam got ready at La Quinta Hotel, and then traveled to the Dibbles Inn where their ceremony and reception would be held. They had their first look right on the front porch, followed by some pretty fun and unique portraits. As firefighters, they had tot have a “little something” to incorporate one of the things they enjoy doing together most, in their wedding portraits.Don’t worry, no firefighters were injured in the making of these wedding portraits. But they sure did look pretty cute.Heather had some pretty awesome bridesmaids, but since Danielle was unable to make the wedding, they made sure she would still be included in her wedding pictures. So her face on a spatula made the rounds, all day long. They had a sweet ceremony, in which they exchanged their vows under the cover of some very beautiful trees, that made a great backdrop,…

Ventosa Vineyards Engagement Session, Geneva, NY ♥ Lisa & Casey

Lisa and Casey’s engagement session started out at the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards, in Geneva. It was such a lovely autumn day and we had the vineyards all to ourselves, overlooking the sparkling Seneca Lake!Well, almost! This little fella wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After a few close ups, he let us get back to work. The pretty blue skies, and the golden autumn sun helped make some very pretty portraits!Oh, and we couldn’t leave without a photo of the donkeys. The kept their eyes on us to make sure we were doing a good job. After we left the vineyards, we headed over to Sampson State Park where Teddy joined us for a few portraits by the lake.It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, even though it was pretty cold at the end. We had a wonderful time with you three, Lisa and Casey, and we are super excited for your wedding next year! It’s going to be fabulous! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be sure to watch the video below for more highlight images from their session! Engagement Session at Syracuse University, NY ♥ Erin + Mike

Erin and Mike picked an absolutely perfect fall afternoon for their engagement session at Syracuse University! Living in the Syracuse area our wholes lives sometimes makes us desensitized to the beauty that fall brings, so when you meet some Syracuse University Alumni, you realize that this place can be a very special home for them while they are here studying. Erin and Mike met here while they attended SU, so it only made sense that they come back to where it all began, to celebrate their engagement. Just walking the campus and surrounding areas, all of your senses are engaged. As new students, the smells of the nearby grub, crisp autumn air, the warm sunshine, and the buzz of the city traffic will be forever associated with their first days as Freshman. It’s all so exciting! But then to also experience a little love in the Syracuse air, brings on a whole new feeling about our city, fondly known as the ‘Cuse. Coming back, I’m sure brought a rush of emotions for them, and we were honored to be able to capture that for them! We wandered a bit about the campus, walking among colorful trees, and stopping at spots that brought back memories. They proudly donned their SU t-shirts for a few fun portraits in front of the iconic Hall of Languages.  We noticed that as soon as they put on those t-shirts, that they loosened right up, and it seemed as though they were right back to being students! The sun was warm and welcoming, so we also…

Engagement Session at Green Lakes, Fayetteville, NY ♥ Ashley + Matt

Ashley and Matt’s engagement session at Green Lakes is a perfect example of why we are always so busy in the fall! The amazing colors of autumn are so sought-after, that people will drive from all over the country for an opportunity to have their session with the backdrop of the fall foliage! Sometimes, however, even though it looks spectacular, you can’t tell in the photos that is was absolutely freezing! In fact, Ashley an Matt left the warmer temperatures of their home state to find snow on their way into New York. If you look closely at Greg’s mugshot here, you will see a few white flakes that were  floating around as we waited for Ashley and Matt to begin their session. We don’t always look cute when shooting an engagement session, but when we do, we’re wearing camo winter-wear! 🙂 Thankfully, they went away pretty quickly, because who is ready for that stuff? It didn’t warm up much, but it gave Ashley and Matt plenty of reason to be cuddly during their session! Green Lakes has so much to offer for a portrait session, and we did our best to hit up all the cool spots before their session ended. It was nice to get a little exercise, too, as we trekked around the lake. We made a complete loop around Green Lake, and made a quick stop off to Round Lake for a few portraits there. The trees at Round Lake were especially vibrant in color, and was a nice place for the lovebirds to stop and…

Engagement Session at Watkins Glen, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

No, you’re not seeing double again! We enjoyed another trip back to Schuyler County for Alexa and Ryan’s engagement session at Watkins Glen! It’s so ironic how many things we have done twice this year, and that’s not the only similarity with this couple. You’ll have to wait for the next blog post to see what we mean. The best part about Watkins Glen is that even though we photographed two engagement sessions there in the same week, there is so much there to enjoy, and both sessions were completely different! One of the biggest differences in the sessions was without a doubt, the temperature! Though Alexa and Ryan look so adorable in their portraits, they hid the fact that it was FREEZING the day of their session quite well. Okay, so maybe there wasn’t snow, but the threat was there, and their poor baby Great Dane, Calypso, had a hard time staying warm. Three month old, Caly, had on such a cute sweater, but even that didn’t keep her from shivering. Mom and Dad nuzzled up to her, in an effort to keep her toasty, but we had to keep her part of the session brief so she could get back to the warm car with “Grandma”. She sure was a cutie though, and one of the best behaved puppies we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Alexa and Ryan enjoyed a little champagne toast to celebrate their engagement, and a little snuggle time of their own. I’m not quite sure what it is about the ladies always wanting to…

Engagement Session at Pratt’s Falls, Manlius, NY ♥ Korinne + Jesse

There’s little more than a fun young couple at the beautiful Pratt’s Falls in autumn, that will do a better job to brighten your day! We had a really great afternoon with Korinne and Jesse, to celebrate their engagement with some colorful portraits! We started out at the falls, where we found out very quickly that Jesse doesn’t have a serious bone in his body. And apparently, he is very contagious, because Korinne had a hard time keeping a straight face with all of Jesse’s plentiful humor! It was a little chilly, but they managed to stay warm with plenty of snuggling, while we wandered around the park for more portraits! Their light-hearted spirit, and love for each other made for a great session, and will surely bring lots of fun to their wedding next year! Can’t wait to join them for their big day, and see all of their wedding dreams become a reality! Congrats, you two, and thank you for being so much fun! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg…

Wedding at Hayloft on the Arch, Vernon Center, NY ♥ Lauren + Jeff

It’s so hard to believe that it was just eight months ago that we joined Lauren and Jeff at Hayloft on the Arch for their winter engagement session! And today, we are looking back on their beautiful autumn wedding. They could not have chosen a more perfect day, or a more perfect place to celebrate their nuptials. And if you were to ask any of their friends and family, the two could not be more perfect for each other. We joined Lauren at Hayloft, where she and her lovely ladies offered lots of love and laughs as she transformed from a beautiful young lady into a stunning bride. After a winning trip to the Turning Stone Casino, Jeff and his best man returned to the Tower to don their tuxes, and share a few happy moments before they departed for the long-awaited celebration. Before they exchanged their vows, Lauren and Jeff had a tearful first look session, where we were able to capture some of the most beautiful moments of their day. It was a cool autumn afternoon, with the clouds and foliage as the perfect backdrop for their outdoor ceremony, performed by Pastor Wheatley. Following family portraits, and a spirited cocktail hour, their guests joined them in the barn for what may have been one of the sweetest first dances we have ever been fortunate enough to see. Family and friends were treated to a delicious dinner prepared and served by A Moveable Feast. After bellies were full, the party was started with plenty of energy, while the guests…
