Wedding at Marriott Syracuse Downtown, Syracuse, NY ♥ Lauren + Dan

Lauren and Dan’s recent wedding at Hotel Syracuse could not be topped! We actually met Lauren back in 2013 when she was Maid of Honor for another one of our fabulous couples – Abby and Brendan! When Lauren contacted us in her search for a wedding photographer, we couldn’t have been more excited to photograph her and Dan’s wedding. But the plot thickened! Before we knew it, we were actually meeting with another couple who happened to be friends of theirs. Thanks to modern technology Christine and Dan actually knew that Lauren and Dan had booked us before we did, since they texted them during our meeting! Lauren and Dan are such a sweet and fun couple (just like their amazing friends who can all be seen in the photo below), and we had a lot of fun with them right off the bat, during their engagement session last fall. If you missed seeing the images from their session, you can find them here. Their big day came before we knew it, and it went off without a hitch. Their ceremony at the Church of the Most Holy Rosary was absolutely beautiful, and we visited Franklin Square for some very memorable moments with their bridal party. Their reception at the Hotel Syracuse was energetic to say the least! Everyone was up and dancing, and had a blast. Have a look at the photos and slideshow below to see for yourself! Wedding at Francesca’s Cucina, Syracuse, NY ♥ Jess + Mike

Who doesn’t love an awesome wedding reception at the area-favorite, Francesca’s Cucina? Jess and Mike’s wedding day was one we were definitely looking forward to! After their fun engagement session at the Martisco Train Museum, we were excited to see what Francesca’s looked like with their new renovations. If you missed out on seeing their engagement session, you sneak a peek at some of the highlights here. Jess made an absolutely stunning bride – that hair though! Their beautiful ceremony took place at the Dewitt Community Church – such a pretty, and bright place for a wedding! After their ceremony, we headed to Franklin Square Park for their bridal party portraits, before heading to Francesca’s. Francesca’s has always been a gorgeous place for a meal, especially in their outdoor dining area, but WOW! The place looks amazing! It really makes you forget you’re in Syracuse – it’s just like walking into an authentic restaurant right in Italy. A huge thumbs up to Francesca’s for their amazing job on the renovations, and of course the fantastic food that they served! After their fun and upbeat reception full of dancing, Jess and Mike along with their bridal party, headed out to the curbside to light some Chinese Lanterns. A little bit of fire, a few wishes, and a lot of laughs made for a great end to the evening! See for yourself! Timberlodge at Arrowhead Golf Club Wedding, Akron, NY ♥ Samantha + Ken

Samantha and Ken’s wedding at Timberlodge was a bittersweet end to our 2016 wedding season. Sam and Ken came to us just over a year ago looking for their wedding photographer, and we knew instantly that would love to have them as our clients. They dazzled us with their sweet love for each other when they met us in Lake George for their engagement session last October. One year later, we met them in Buffalo at the Spring Hill Suites as they readied for what would be an amazing wedding day!Samantha and her ladies were lucky to have the talents of Eva Jewel for their makeup application, and Sue Baker for their hair styling. All of them looked fantastic! Her stunning florals were courtesy of the talents of  I Do Weddings Florist.Their ceremony at St. Amelia’s Roman Catholic Church was followed by an amazing cocktail hour despite the windy chill outside!Sam and Ken’s day was perfect, not one raindrop fell from the sky, while Syracuse and the eastern part of the state suffered through rain and even snow!Sam and Ken worked really hard at putting so much into every single detail of their wedding. And it showed! And their families were absolutely overjoyed by being there to celebrate their day.Saxman Slim knocked it out of the park with his sax, and with his song choices for the evening. There was no spare room on the dancefloor at any given time. They ended the night with a s’mores bar, and a few romantic kisses by the gazebo.Sam and Ken, the two of you…

Rustic Farm Wedding Cherry Valley, NY ♥ Amy + Liam

There couldn’t be a better time for a rustic farm wedding, than in the fall. The colors, the crisp autumn air, sweaters, boots and a roaring fire pit were all just small parts of Amy and Liam’s wedding day that made it extra special, in Cherry Valley.Their wedding color was one that we love and are surrounded by in our every day lives – a beautiful, yellowy-green. Amy’s bouquet has definitely ranked #1 of all the fall bouquets we have had the luxury of seeing. It was so organic and beautiful, and the aroma of oregano only added to its charm. It was the perfect blend of colors, textures, and fragrances that made it the perfect autumn bouquet. Their shoes were also some of my favorites too! This isn’t our first time at Glensfoot. We’ve actually been there 4 times now for 2 weddings, and 2 engagement sessions, and yet each time the property seems to take on the personality of who we’re there to photograph. It was wonderful seeing the Yellow Barn transformed into a cocktail lounge, and the Century Barn turned into a Cinema for the children to be entertained. We have wondered more than once if the walls could talk, what they might say.Amy and Liam took a relaxed and low-key approach to their wedding day. They left behind the worries of modern wedding traditions and embraced a day that was filled with family, friends, love, and togetherness.Dusty, the couple’s dog decided all on his own that he wanted to be a part of walking the bride down the…

Rustic, Country Wedding in Hunt, NY ♥ Cortney + Shawn

Cortney and Shawn’s rustic, country wedding was a dream made into a reality, with a lot of hard work, long hours, and plenty of planning. A wedding with this much attention to detail, doesn’t happen without the help of many hands, and loved ones that wanted nothing more than to see their dream wedding come true. They had no shortage on that, that’s for sure! Most often, our clients are from all over the country, and meet with us by Skype or by phone, but we met with Cortney and her mom, and mother-in-law to-be at a Dunkin’ Donuts over coffee while we were on our way to an engagement session, headed in their direction. Though our meeting place was nothing too fancy, we didn’t take too long to figure out how much their wedding planning meant to all the ladies, and how their search for a photographer was at the top of their priority list. Cortney, herself, is a photographer, so she knew and valued the work that goes into what we do. Being chosen to photograph the wedding of another photographer is an honor,  and we were delighted to be chosen to document their day. We finally got the chance to meet Shawn when we photographed their engagement session last fall. If you missed the blog post with their session highlights, you can enjoy those here. Fast forward to the wedding day, the ladies got ready at the beautiful Genessee Falls Inn, where we lodged the night before. Debora, who tirelessly manages the hotel, gave us the grand…

Wedding at Longfellows, Saratoga Springs, NY ♥ Stefanie + Jason

Writing wedding blogs is most often a bittersweet task. When we connect with great clients, and the wedding day arrives, we are excited, charged, and sometimes even just as anxious, since we want nothing less than a perfect day for them. Most of our clients book engagement sessions with us, and build relationships for often times a year or more. Our journey with Stefanie and Jason began over two years ago, as they planned their wedding before a big move. We planned for their engagement session to take place right before, and had a wonderful evening with them and captured some of our favorite images. If you haven’t yet seen the images from that session, you can find them here.  So now, as we put together their wedding blog, though it’s a happy and joyous occasion, it brings with it a little sadness, since we know that our journey with them will soon be coming to a close. BUT, let’s not dwell on that – instead let’s focus on the beautiful day they had in Saratoga Springs! Stefanie and Jason, through no fault of their own went through some twists and turns in their wedding planning. Including a date and venue change, which they did flawlessly. Their decision could not have been better and their wedding at Longfellows was even better than I think they ever could have imagined it. With everything right on-site, there was little stress, except for the threat of rain, which passed in just a few minutes. Their outdoor ceremony was ideal with cooler temperatures, and…

Wedding at Lake George, Ticonderoga, NY ♥ Kimberly + Michael

Our very first trip to Lake George, Ticonderoga, for Kimberly and Michael’s wedding could not have been more amazing! The weather was perfect, the skies were beautiful, and this couple had such an endearing love for one another, that we could not have been more thankful to be invited to join them. Kimberly and her girls got ready at the family cottage right on the shore of the breathtaking Lake George. Though we’d never seen her as anything but a bride, we can confidently say that her inner glow was beaming on her wedding day. Lexie Voelker provided the makeup and hairstyles for the girls, and they all looked radiant! Relaxed, and focused, both Michael and Kimberly had clearly prepared for this day for a long time. Michael and his groomsmen readied at the Best Western, and then headed off to St. Mary’s Church where they would exchange their vows. Before the ceremony began, Colleen took an opportunity to sneak into the private room to introduce herself to the groom for the first time. She found him in the company of his best man, as they were exchanging a few last minute words, and as he turned to greet her, she met his tearful eyes, as he prepared for what was clearly an emotional and heartfelt commitment. Kimberly was escorted down the aisle by her energetic and handsome son, Noah, who anxiously embraced Mike, as he “gave his Mom away”. Following their ceremony, and some family portraits, Greg sneaked off with the Bride and Groom for a relaxing boat ride,…

Engagement Session at Armory Square, Syracuse, NY ♥ Colleen + Michael

Colleen and Michael embarked on their journey of love at the popular Irish Pub, Kitty Hoynes. What better place to also start out their engagement session with us, on a warm and sunny afternoon? Remember back when it was warm and sunny? Celebrating their Irish Pride (we just loved that!), and their engagement, they shared a couple of pints, while sharing a few laughs. We wandered around Armory Square a little bit before heading off to Upper Onondaga Park to catch the sunset. The beautiful willow trees, sparkling pond, and breath-taking views of the city added the perfect backdrop to their session. Check out the video below to see some of our favorites from their session! Thank you, Colleen and Michael for enjoying the evening with us! We can’t wait to celebrate with you again, at your wedding!Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes)  Colleen & Greg  …

Wedding at Hayloft on the Arch, Vernon Center, NY ♥ Lauren + Jeff

It’s so hard to believe that it was just eight months ago that we joined Lauren and Jeff at Hayloft on the Arch for their winter engagement session! And today, we are looking back on their beautiful autumn wedding. They could not have chosen a more perfect day, or a more perfect place to celebrate their nuptials. And if you were to ask any of their friends and family, the two could not be more perfect for each other. We joined Lauren at Hayloft, where she and her lovely ladies offered lots of love and laughs as she transformed from a beautiful young lady into a stunning bride. After a winning trip to the Turning Stone Casino, Jeff and his best man returned to the Tower to don their tuxes, and share a few happy moments before they departed for the long-awaited celebration. Before they exchanged their vows, Lauren and Jeff had a tearful first look session, where we were able to capture some of the most beautiful moments of their day. It was a cool autumn afternoon, with the clouds and foliage as the perfect backdrop for their outdoor ceremony, performed by Pastor Wheatley. Following family portraits, and a spirited cocktail hour, their guests joined them in the barn for what may have been one of the sweetest first dances we have ever been fortunate enough to see. Family and friends were treated to a delicious dinner prepared and served by A Moveable Feast. After bellies were full, the party was started with plenty of energy, while the guests…

Barn Wedding in Cherry Valley, NY ♥ Melanie + Dan

We made our first visit to Glensfoot, in Cherry Valley, to photograph Melanie and Dan back in May for their engagement session.  Ever since, we have been anxiously awaiting our trip back to photograph their wedding! With such a unique place, and all of their fantastic planning and hard work, we had a hunch that it was going to be nothing short of spectacular! And guess what? We were so right! When we arrived in Cherry Valley, we were disappointed that Mother Nature decided to dish out a cold, damp, and rainy day for them, but it had little effect on how excited everyone was to be there for such a special day. Melanie and her lovely ladies took over the main house for their preparations, while Dan and his gents readied in the “Shop”. Their army of help ran around the grounds, in between the rain drops, to get everything set up. Their ceremony, expected to be out on the lawn, was moved into the rustic Century Barn, and their guests were ushered in under the cover of umbrellas. Their vows were recited, following a lot of laughs, as they exchanged such loving looks at each other. It was heartwarming to say the least! After it was official, the newlyweds headed under the tent for their ceremonial shooting of the mini-cannon. We’re quite certain that we were to excited to care that we went temporarily deaf for a few minutes afterward! While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the rain finally stopped! Perfect timing for Melanie and Dan to drop…

Wedding at Star Lake, Adirondack Park, NY ♥ Liz + Ricky

We are very excited to get to share this very special Star Lake wedding with you today! We had the pleasure of photographing Liz and Ricky last fall for their engagement session, and were eagerly awaiting their beautiful ceremony on the floating dock! If you’re not familiar with Star Lake, it’s a very quaint lake nestled on the Northwest edge of Adirondack Park, where these two actually fell in love. So it made perfect sense for them to have their wedding celebration at the very location where their story began. When we arrived, it really felt as though we were embarking on a camping trip! Set on private property, it actually felt more like a summertime haven for those looking to relax in the great outdoors. Many perfect little cabins, wooded trails, and a perfect beach for their guests to witness the two exchange their vows. Though the rain came through shortly before, it stopped precisely in time for their ceremony, held on the floating dock. The bride, escorted by her parents, arrived at the beach where the bridal party joined them. The rain held out long enough to see them through their ceremony, and formal photographs that followed. But even better was what happened after the rain started again! They really weathered the storm so elegantly under the tent, with a fantastic dinner served up by the ever famous Dinosaur Bar-b-que! Feel free to be jealous, because the food was outstanding! Despite their full bellies, their family and friends had no problem rocking the dance floor through the night.…

Wedding at The Frog Pond, Skaneateles, NY ♥ Rachael + Nathan

You might remember back in May, we posted an engagement session of the beautiful couple, Rachael and Nathan. Well, today, we are delighted to present to you, a sneak peek from their romantic, and heartwarming wedding at the Frog Pond. When we prepare for a wedding with one of our couples, we have come to expect that there will be touching moments that will really move us, throughout the day. It’s a part of what makes what we do so incredibly special, and worthwhile. However, on Rachael and Nathan’s wedding day, we were not quite expecting all of the emotion and beauty that was so carefully woven into all the aspects of their day. When we arrived at the Frog Pond, Colleen was delighted to find Rachael sitting quietly in her suite, with a pen and notebook in her lap. She was writing the words that she would recite to her soon-to-be husband, in a beautiful notebook that would accompany her to their ceremony. It was only a small example of all the meaningful things that would unravel over the next few hours. We have never seen so many special gifts given at a wedding. The groom received from his parents, an heirloom pocket watch that belonged to his great grandfather, along with a wrist watch and a special bow tie to wear from his bride-to-be. The bride was given and antique handkerchief embroidered with an “R” that belonged to Nathan’s great-great grandmother, from Nathan’s parents. Rachael’s grandmother gifted her a special family heirloom locket. The couple had specially made…
