Winery Wedding at Wagner Vineyards, Lodi, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

Alexa and Ryan’s winery wedding at Wagner Vineyards was our first wedding this year that actually felt like fall. It was just a year ago that we first visited Watkins Glen with the happy couple, along with Caly, for their engagement session. Alexa started the wedding day by getting dolled up at the New Image Hair Net Work in Watkins Glen… While Ryan was “pampered” at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. (Also, be sure to watch the highlight reel at the bottom for images of the “pampering”.)After all the ladies were finished with hair and makeup, they headed back to Alexa’s parents to get into their dresses, and help the bride get into hers. And the guys… well, they did more guy things. Near water. With alcohol.Alexa made an absolutely stunning bride! And “little” Miss Caly, who isn’t quite so little anymore, made an appearance all decked out in her own pearls, in some portraits with her “Mom”.Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Wagner Vineyards for their ceremony.A beautiful reception, catered by the staff at the Ginny Lee Cafe, right at Wagner, followed their heartwarming exchange of vows and rings. Not a slice of cake to be found at this wedding! Can’t have a fall wedding without a slice of an amazing assortment of pies, courtesy of The Village Bakery.A lot of dancing and epic moves were performed on the dance floor, made possible with music from Bill at Black Tie Entertainment. It was fantastic to finally work with Bill, who had remained “elusive” through the years…

Engagement Session at Watkins Glen, NY ♥ Alexa + Ryan

No, you’re not seeing double again! We enjoyed another trip back to Schuyler County for Alexa and Ryan’s engagement session at Watkins Glen! It’s so ironic how many things we have done twice this year, and that’s not the only similarity with this couple. You’ll have to wait for the next blog post to see what we mean. The best part about Watkins Glen is that even though we photographed two engagement sessions there in the same week, there is so much there to enjoy, and both sessions were completely different! One of the biggest differences in the sessions was without a doubt, the temperature! Though Alexa and Ryan look so adorable in their portraits, they hid the fact that it was FREEZING the day of their session quite well. Okay, so maybe there wasn’t snow, but the threat was there, and their poor baby Great Dane, Calypso, had a hard time staying warm. Three month old, Caly, had on such a cute sweater, but even that didn’t keep her from shivering. Mom and Dad nuzzled up to her, in an effort to keep her toasty, but we had to keep her part of the session brief so she could get back to the warm car with “Grandma”. She sure was a cutie though, and one of the best behaved puppies we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Alexa and Ryan enjoyed a little champagne toast to celebrate their engagement, and a little snuggle time of their own. I’m not quite sure what it is about the ladies always wanting to…

Engagement Session at Watkins Glen, NY ♥ Elizabeth + Michael

It was a gorge-ous autumn day when we met up with Elizabeth and Michael for their engagement session at Watkins Glen. We absolutely love the opportunity to photograph a session commemorating a couple’s engagement. It provides us with a chance to get to know them, and for them to ease into having their portraits taken. It’s especially nice when they select a meaningful location for their session, like Elizabeth and Michael did! They chose to revisit the location where they had their first date, and it was the perfect location to start their session! We began their session right at Lover’s Lane, and walked in and around the park stopping at some fantastic spots that showed off not only the gorges, and the autumn colors, but also Elizabeth and Michael as well! We even spotted a heart-shaped rock in the water, that made for a perfect addition to some of their portraits. We stopped at the Cavern Cascade for a nice long-exposure portrait before we headed out of the park. In recreating their first date travels, we headed next to the Seneca Lake Pier, where the setting sun gave us some wispy clouds, and plenty of color for some final portraits at dusk. Elizabeth and Michael, thank you for taking us on a nice hike with you! It was a lot of fun getting to visit the glen again, after six years, and getting to include the two of you in a great evening! You guys are a great couple, and we are really looking forward to seeing you let…
