Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca, NY ♥ Elizabeth + Marcus

As wedding photographers, our clients and our work bring us all over Upstate New York, but one of our most treasured favorite places is the LakeWatch Inn, in Ithaca. When Elizabeth and Marcus contacted us in their search for a wedding photographer, we were not only excited to have the chance of photographing there again, we also fell instantly in love with them as a couple. There is just something about them, that makes everyone who’s met them, stop and take pause. Though our first meeting was over a Skype session, everything there is to love about them came through, just in the way they looked at each other. Our first chance at meeting them was when we traveled to Brooklyn for their engagement session. If you haven’t yet seen the images from their session, you can enjoy them here. We started out with Elizabeth at the Satori Salon where the ladies received a little bit of pampering. The King Suite at Hotel Ithaca made the perfect place for Elizabeth to slip into her stunning wedding gown, before heading over to the Cornell Plantations for their “first look”. Their wedding programs predicted it exactly right: Elizabeth was the one in white, and Marcus was the one in tears. But he wasn’t the only one… We then headed over to LakeWatch for the ceremony, and we were excited to see the beautiful new landscaping and walkway that would now be the aisle for their outdoor weddings. Their ceremony was absolutely perfect, and just watching the way they looked at each other…

Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca, NY ♥ Trisha + Eddie

We were ever so happy to be invited again to the LakeWatch Inn, in Ithaca, this time to celebrate the country-inspired wedding of Trisha + Eddie! This couple made their mark, the very first time we spoke to them on the phone! We barely had gotten past the “Hi, how are you’s?” before Eddie blurted out his first question to us: “Do you offer discounts to really good looking couples?” Of course we replied by telling them that they would have to send us a photo for us to be able to decide. And before we finished our chat – they did! Their sense of humor, and lighthearted personalities were our first sign that we would love to work with them!We started their wedding day by meeting them both at the Hampton Inn, while they primped and readied for their “first Look” session. When they were all ready, we headed to Myers Park to capture the bride and groom as they saw each other dressed for their wedding day. After some formal portraits, we got back on the road, headed for the LakeWatch Inn, for the official beginning of their celebration. Before the ceremony, the bride had an emotional embrace with her Dad, as he finally saw his little girl as a bride. The nuptials began with a tearful hand off from the bride’s father to her handsome groom-to-be. Their ceremony garnered lots of laughs, tears of joy, and ended with a triumphant hand raise from Eddie. A wonderful barbeque-style meal was served by Nicole, and all the staff at…

Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca, NY ♥ Erin + Vinny

We were so excited to kick off another summer wedding season with Erin and Vinny at The LakeWatch Inn, in Ithaca, NY! Not only were Erin and Vinny one of the sweetest couples, but their “furkid” Wylie is so ridiculously adorable, we almost couldn’t take it. He totally stole the show at their engagement session last fall. We were perfectly okay with that! Erin and Vinny prepared for their wedding day so calmly, despite the threat of not just a thunderstorm, but a possible tornado. No worries though, Nicole at the LakeWatch was ready for whatever Mother Nature decided to dish out. Though the looming storm ultimately moved their ceremony indoors, it was just as beautiful, and the Bride and Groom were poised and stunning throughout it all. A break in the weather thankfully allowed us to get their family portraits outside, and some with the newlyweds as well. The staff served a fantastic meal, followed by that stunning cake! How about that cake topper huh? Definitely one of our favorites! A little bit of rain in the evening allowed us a chance to sneak Erin and Vinny out onto the deck, for a stunning night portrait with the rain behind them. Complete with the beautiful blue sky to match their wedding colors! After a great party and lots of dancing, the couple received a sparkler send off, and lit on out of there in a beautiful blue get-away car. It was a wonderful day, and no rain or thunderstorm was going to stop them from having a good time.…

Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca ♥ Sarah + Mike – Part Two

Welcome back! We’re happy that you have joined us again to see the beautiful conclusion of Sarah + Mike’s Wedding day! If you’re visiting for the first time, you don’t want to miss Part One that was posted yesterday! We left off yesterday, with the ceremony where the stunning couple made their way down the aisle for the first time, as husband and wife! As it often happens, we usually get the pleasure of being the first people to actually refer to our couples as husband and wife, too. We loved Sarah’s giggle when we did that, while taking some photos of them after the ceremony. To keep things neat, and allow enough space to include all the ceremony photos yesterday, we opted to share the bridal party images today. We actually visited the breathtaking Stewart Park prior to the ceremony, where this group was super helpful and cooperative! Not only was there a big event going on there, and tons of people, we also had to keep an eye out for what we will refer to as “Geese Landmines”.  But they were really good sports about it all, and we still managed to have fun during their Formal photo session. After the bride and groom had a few moments to themselves following the ceremony, and we were graciously allowed access to cool off in the manager’s office, the party began! Sarah and Mike had the sweetest first dance, which was spotlit by the glowing afternoon sun! They kicked off the party with the traditions of the Horah, AND the…

Wedding at The LakeWatch Inn, Ithaca ♥ Sarah + Mike – Part One

Let’s start off this blog post with a bit of honesty. This has been one of the most agonizing blog posts that we have had to compile, ever. This couple had a wedding day for the books, in being so awesome, with so many memorable and touching moments from beginning to end. Which inevitably made it very difficult to narrow down our favorite images that highlighted the day. So for the first time, we are going to do something different, by blogging not one, but TWO parts to represent everything awesome that was Sarah and Mike’s wedding! It was never a doubt for us that Sarah and Mike would have an absolutely awesome wedding day. When we met them for the first time almost exactly a year ago, we traveled to Jersey City for their engagement session. There we also had the pleasure of meeting their four-legged roommate; the lovable Skippy! We really enjoyed getting to bond with them, and see just how perfect they are for each other. If you missed the blog post on their E-Session, you can enjoy it here. Every couple, and every wedding is unique and special in its own way, but we were particularly impressed by Mike’s involvement in the planning, and how dedicated they both were to making their day tailored especially to them! Their day started at the historic Benn Conger Inn, in Groton, where Mike and his groomsmen readied inside the main house. Sarah, Skippy, and her bridesmaids prepared for the day in the beautiful, Victorian cottage right next door. It…

Alison + Jason = Married | Wedding Photography at Aurora Inn, Immaculate Conception Church and LakeWatch Inn Ithaca NY

Alison and Jason’s fairytale weekend began Friday night with their rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Aurora Inn, in Aurora, NY. The intimate gathering of their close friends and family overlooking the beautiful Cayuga Lake, celebrated their love for each other. Wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a nice dinner was served with relaxing music provided by John Joseph of Caribbean Breeze Steel Band. A breathtaking sunset at the close of the evening provided a perfect backdrop for photos of the couple and their guests. Their wedding day began with preparations at The Hilton Garden Inn, and the bride’s childhood home in Ithaca. Their ceremony took place at the spectacular Immaculate Conception Church, where tears of joy adorned the faces of their family and friends as they exchanged their marriage vows. Alison and Jason were surprised by the bride’s parents, with a special ride for their day! A baby blue Bentley was waiting outside the church for them to be chauffeured around Ithaca, complete with a driver! We followed behind them to the Cornell Plantations where we took some great formal shots of the bride, groom, and their attendants. And with one of the bridesmaids prodding, we ventured down to the Ithaca Falls, where we scooped up a few more shots of the lovely Mister & Missus in front of the falls and some swimmers. Their reception at the Lakewatch Inn was nothing short of magical! The atmosphere, that included live music from the band The Destination, was warm and inviting. Kudos to the staff at the Lakewatch Inn for providing the guests…
