Wedding at Marriott Syracuse Downtown, Syracuse, NY ♥ Laura + Patrick

We had been really looking forward to Laura and Patrick’s wedding at Marriott Syracuse Downtown this year! Also known to the locals as Hotel Syracuse, this historic wedding venue has seen a lot of brides and grooms tie the knot since its opening in 1924, and when it was renovated and re-opened for business last year, we were excited to be able to celebrate there with this wonderful couple on their wedding day! It was hard to imagine their wedding being anything less than perfect, after their amazing engagement session last fall. If you missed our blog post for their session, you can check it out here. It’s one of our all-time favorites! We had an amazing day with the bride and groom, and even though the threat of rain had us biting our nails for a minute, Mother Nature came through. A pretty sizeable downpour happened during their ceremony at Assumption Church, but went away long before it had a chance to affect their day. We made a stop at one of the area’s most well-known parks for their portraits, and though under construction, Laura and Patrick managed to make the place look amazing. Their reception was off the charts! With the help of Lindsey at the Marriott, and the musical talents of Kirk at Select Receptions,  the splendor of their celebration the even attracted a few unexpected guests to check it out! It was great getting to work with Kirk a second time this season, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the music with an evening full of dancing!…

Elmwood and Onondaga Parks Engagement Session, Syracuse, NY ♥ Lauren & Dan

Lauren and Dan’s Elmwood and Onondaga Parks engagement session was just perfect on a lovely autumn day in Syracuse. Native to Syracuse, Lauren and Dan felt right at home at our first stop in Elmwood Park. With a shortage of rainfall this summer, the water levels in the creek were nice and low so we took advantage and went right down into the creek bed for some portraits. In addition to its pretty creek, the stone steps are another beautiful feature of Elmwood. We then took the short drive over to Upper Onondaga Park.Well-known for its pond, and gazebo, the park made the front of many postcards. We think that Lauren and Dan made the park look pretty good that day, and would make a nice postcard all on their own!Ahh, the beautiful sunlight! Most people seek the variety of colors that the foliage brings in the fall. As photographers, the colors are lovely, but the true beauty is that warm, romantic sunlight. It makes even a black and white photograph “shine”.And of course, who could “overlook” the views of the city, and the iconic Carrier Dome? Nothing like being able to capture a portrait in front of a city you know and love so well and these guys looked pretty adorable doing it! Thank you for hanging out with us for the afternoon, Lauren and Dan! And for choosing us to join you on your wedding journey! We look forward to being there for the big day next summer! Congratulations! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes) Colleen & Greg Be…

Engagement Session at Armory Square, Syracuse, NY ♥ Colleen + Michael

Colleen and Michael embarked on their journey of love at the popular Irish Pub, Kitty Hoynes. What better place to also start out their engagement session with us, on a warm and sunny afternoon? Remember back when it was warm and sunny? Celebrating their Irish Pride (we just loved that!), and their engagement, they shared a couple of pints, while sharing a few laughs. We wandered around Armory Square a little bit before heading off to Upper Onondaga Park to catch the sunset. The beautiful willow trees, sparkling pond, and breath-taking views of the city added the perfect backdrop to their session. Check out the video below to see some of our favorites from their session! Thank you, Colleen and Michael for enjoying the evening with us! We can’t wait to celebrate with you again, at your wedding!Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all good wishes)  Colleen & Greg  …
