Lourdes Camp Engagement Session, Skaneateles, NY ♥ Martha & CJ

We just adored Martha and CJ’s engagement session at Lourdes Camp, in Skaneateles! It was a delightful fall afternoon and the perfect place to have their session, with all of the leaves changing colors!Lourdes Camp is situated right on Skaneateles Lake at Tenmile Point, where the scenic views from the beach are just breathtaking! They brought along their cute, furry little friend, “Boo”, who totally wanted to steal all the thunder away from them, right from the very start! He tried so hard, too! He was just so cute, that we couldn’t help but let him have a little bit of attention. The dry summer that turned into fall left the creek bed nice and dry – a perfect place to put these love birds for a portrait! Boo really didn’t give up on being the center of attention. In fact, he even upped his game as the session went on. But, Martha and CJ still managed to keep in a romantic mood despite the antics of their four-legged fur baby. Especially with the campfire, and some cuddles to keep them warm. Our time with them came to a close when the skies opened up and the rain that threatened the session all day finally made an appearance. But we didn’t mind a bit! What an awesome session this was, Marth and CJ (and Boo, too)! We really had a great time, and the two (or three) of you were so easy to work with! We are eager to be there with you again next year for the wedding! Le gach dea-ghuí, (With all…

Wedding at Arrowhead Lodge, Brewerton, NY ♥ Alice + Chris

No, you’re not seeing things – we were actually at Arrowhead Lodge two weekends in a row, this time for the long-awaited wedding for Alice and Chris! You might remember last fall, when this adorable couple had their Ontario Orchards and McIntyre Bluff engagement session. We enjoyed their session so much, and were eagerly awaiting their wedding day for almost exactly a year. Just like the week before, the threat of rain brought their ceremony indoors, but it wasn’t any less beautiful and heart warming. Their attention to detail, and hand-crafted decor turned the lodge into an extraordinary place for their guests to enjoy their event. Let’s also not forget my personal favorite – Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, at every place setting. Did anyone get a vomit-flavored one?? Designer lighting provided by Syracuse Weddings – DJ by Design added just the right amount of color and personality to dress up the lodge for a fantastic evening of dancing and celebration. Alice and Chris’ wedding party were energetic, and lively, which made for some great bridal party portraits! Tony’s Family Restaurant provided a delectable home-style buffet, fit for Kings and Queens. And to top it all off, a tasty Sundae bar with all of the toppings you could imagine for dessert! Alice and Chris helped us make priceless images with their silly faces throughout the day. Once Carl and his crew from DJ by Design got the dance music going, you couldn’t pull their guests off the dance floor if you wanted to! We did manage to steal the Bride…

Wedding at The Arrowhead Lodge, Brewerton, NY ♥ Melody + Adam

Congratulations to Melody and Adam, on their recent wedding at the Arrowhead Lodge, In Brewerton! Though the weather outside was dreary and rain-filled, inside – their love and adoring nature created a wonderful atmosphere for their lovely, intimate wedding. The rustic Arrowhead Lodge was adorned with snippets of their love for the outdoors, and the guest list even included their sweet kitties – who attended in perfect cardboard cut-out form. Following their short, but sweet ceremony and their first dance, the bride and groom graced their guests with tearful parent dances, before treating them to a warm, and delicious barbecue dinner prepared by none other than one Syracuse’s favorites – Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. You can’t have a wedding without a yummy dessert to follow your meal, right? So we’ll take an opportunity to poll our audience: How many grooms do you know that would don an apron, and toil over the baking of delectable brownies and pecan pies, for their wedding guests? We have the pleasure of  knowing at least one – THIS one! Their homemade desserts didn’t last long, and their wedding cake was especially unique, when topped with an Alf figurine. If you don’t know who Alf is, you owe it to yourself to follow the link to find out! Melody and Adam shared some laughs with their friends and family as they played the shoe game, before the dance floor was lit up with eager guests wanting to boogey to the music provided by Syracuse Weddings – DJ by Design. Before the night was over, we encouraged the…

Wedding at Star Lake, Adirondack Park, NY ♥ Liz + Ricky

We are very excited to get to share this very special Star Lake wedding with you today! We had the pleasure of photographing Liz and Ricky last fall for their engagement session, and were eagerly awaiting their beautiful ceremony on the floating dock! If you’re not familiar with Star Lake, it’s a very quaint lake nestled on the Northwest edge of Adirondack Park, where these two actually fell in love. So it made perfect sense for them to have their wedding celebration at the very location where their story began. When we arrived, it really felt as though we were embarking on a camping trip! Set on private property, it actually felt more like a summertime haven for those looking to relax in the great outdoors. Many perfect little cabins, wooded trails, and a perfect beach for their guests to witness the two exchange their vows. Though the rain came through shortly before, it stopped precisely in time for their ceremony, held on the floating dock. The bride, escorted by her parents, arrived at the beach where the bridal party joined them. The rain held out long enough to see them through their ceremony, and formal photographs that followed. But even better was what happened after the rain started again! They really weathered the storm so elegantly under the tent, with a fantastic dinner served up by the ever famous Dinosaur Bar-b-que! Feel free to be jealous, because the food was outstanding! Despite their full bellies, their family and friends had no problem rocking the dance floor through the night.…

Wedding at The White Farm Bed + Breakfast, Brockport NY ♥ Casey + Samuel

It was so obvious early on, that Casey and Samuel were going to be a blast to work with. And ironically, they are our second couple who are both Pharmacists. We can’t even put into words how much fun it was getting to do their E-session, but we hope the pictures speak for themselves. If you have not seen them, you can view them here, and we recommend you do, since they were disgustingly adorable. Such a light-hearted and fun couple could have nothing short of a perfect wedding day, and despite a little bit of rain showers, nothing dampened their love on their beautiful day. And the rain clouds knew better than to hang around for long, but left them with such a beautiful sky for the back drop of their portraits that evening. Casey and Sam selected one venue for their entire day. The White Farm Bed and Breakfast in Brockport is not known for hosting wedding events, but the couple and the owners really outdid themselves to make this place one of our favorites. With the help of their friends and family they decorated it to be one of the most romantic places you could imagine. Casey and her girls readied in a beautiful vintage room, and the boys got ready in another room just down the hall. Outside the family set up the tables, with beautiful place settings, complete with table name cards, named after common pharmaceutical drugs. What a fun way to personalize their wedding tables! Christine Hunt of the White Farm, provided the flowers…

Wedding at Chanetelle Marie Lakehouse and Skaneateles Country Club ♥ Emily + Jason

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for Emily and Jason’s wedding.  Even a little bit of rain did not dampen their spirits or their joy on their special day. We first met them back in the winter, with their four-legged friend Grady, for an Engagement Session in beautiful Skaneateles. Visit their session blog here, if you missed out. We were so excited about getting to follow them around on their gorgeous wedding day! The day began with the ladies getting ready at Emily’s parents’ home, right in the heart of Skaneateles. The sun kept peeking out in between the rain drops, as everyone readied for the ceremony. The guys awaited the big event at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Auburn. Later they shared a few laughs inside the barn at the breathtaking Chantelle Marie Lakehouse, overlooking one of our favorite of the Finger Lakes – Owasco Lake. Emily and Jason carefully selected this quiet and special venue to celebrate their nuptials. As time grew closer, Mother Nature decided for one last rain before the celebration really began. As the ladies arrived at Chantelle Marie, the rain almost seemed like it would never stop. Coming down in buckets, the groomsmen ushered the guests under the protection of big umbrellas to the ceremony. And while she has been nothing but kind to our brides, Mother Nature does have a sense of humor.  She decided the rain would only stop once the bride stepped foot out of the bus! For the rest of the day, however, she shined happiness down…
