Critz Farms Engagement Session, Cazenovia, NY ♥ Caitlin & Edmund

We are so happy to share Caitlin and Edmund’s Critz Farms Engagement Session! We got quite a giggle out of the fact that they were worried about looking awkward in their portraits, especially since they look so natural and fun! We had the farm to ourselves… well mostly. There were some pretty nosey animals, that just had to watch everything we were doing. The goats and the donkeys definitely made their presence known, and gave their approval while we worked. It was nice being able to have their session at a place they have enjoyed spending time at. And while it’s not quite time to start picking out Christmas trees, they sure did look pretty with Caitlin and Ed standing next to them.We finished up their session with a cool shot outside the barn. Their sweet silhouette behind them was a fun little bonus to what was already going to be a dramatic portrait! Thank you so much, Caitlin and Edmund, for spending your evening with us, while we played and had some fun on the farm. A big thank-you to Critz Farms for letting us come by, and giving us some wheels to get around! Really looking forward to working with you two again one year from tomorrow on your wedding day! Portrait Session in Cherry Valley, NY ♥ Amy + Liam

It seems like forever since the weather was nice enough to have an outdoor session! So we were really looking forward to our return visit to Cherry Valley, and the beautiful property we’ve become so familiar with! It was a warm, but beautiful evening spent with Amy, Liam and Lael, as we wandered about inside and out capturing the beauty of such a sweet family, at the home that has so much history for them and their family. The lush green fields filled with dandelions, the cattle and the rustic barns made for an idyllic backdrop for their session. Once the sun set behind the trees, darkening the valley, we went indoors for a few more portraits inside the house. It almost feels incorrect calling it a house, since once inside, it feels like a step back in time, filled with history and memories, and mementos of a bygone era. Thank you Amy and Liam, for inviting us back to share a lovely evening with you all – it was such a pleasure! We are looking forward to coming back again this fall, to celebrate another wonderful wedding, and see some familiar faces! Can’t wait! Engagement Session at Glensfoot Farm, Cherry Valley, NY ♥ Melanie + Daniel

Melanie and Dan were a super fun couple to work with for their engagement session! When we scheduled their session Glensfoot Farm, we were excited to see the possibilities for portraits, but when we arrived, we got so much more than we had bargained for! It felt like we had stepped into another time, and a place far, far away! And for two people who feared being in front of the camera, they sure didn’t seem that way once their session was underway. Nestled in the quaint and historic Cherry Valley, the beautiful farm was a perfect place to get some unique photos, while keeping things laid back and romantic. Incorporating many of the properties outbuildings, barns (which included some sneaky shots through the barn wood), and even Dan’s motorcycle added some spice to an already awesome session. Nothing was more awesome, though, than sneaking down into the bourbon cellar and getting a few shots there! Can’t say we’ve ever had such an opportunity before, but it definitely made for some unique images! The forecast called from some rain, but the skies cleared up just long enough for our time together, and made for some beautiful skies in the background. We really had a killer time with these two, and we are stoked to see how everything looks on their wedding day! Can’t wait guys! Thanks for such a fantastic session! Engagement Session with Blueberries & Fishing in Fort Plain, NY ♥ Casey + Sam

We were almost TOO excited to meet up with Casey and Sam for their recent E-session, in Fort Plain, since we absolutely love when couples select a place where they can relax and be their natural selves. When they chose the homes of Casey’s Grandparents and nearby Aunt and Uncle, we couldn’t wait to spend the evening with them! It was a gorgeous day when we arrived in the Mohawk Valley, and we knew we would have so many opportunities for great shots once we got there. We started out with some fantastic shots in the woods, by their sparkling pond out behind her Aunt and Uncle’s home, and some quiet portraits by the fields.  We then went to her Grandparent’s farm, where a few portraits in the barn and out by the tractor were a must! The couple also stopped to pick some blueberries together. They were ripened to perfection, and ready to be eaten! While we waited for the sun to come down in the sky a bit, we shared pizza with Casey, Sam, and Casey’s Grandparents, followed by a delicious bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with the fresh blueberries picked from their blueberry bushes out back. So yummy! After dinner and dessert, we enjoyed a breath-taking golden sunset by the pond. We finished up their session with a bit of fishing at the pond, where Sam was able to catch a friend that Sam and Casey were all too happy to pose with! We really had such a wonderful time visiting with these two, and getting…
