Below you will find a list we have compiled of good locations and ideas for wedding formal photos or engagement photography in the Syracuse area, CNY and surrounding. These are tried and true places that we personally have experience shooting at, but we are always open to new locations and love trying new things. Syracuse City

Thornden Park
The park is adjoined by Ostrom Avenue, Madison Street, and South Beech Street east of the Syracuse University Campus.
Info: This large park features a stone ampitheater, and a rose garden which peaks in June.

Onondaga Park
The park is bounded by Roberts Avenue, Crossett Street and Onondaga Avenue on the west side of Syracuse.
Info: This large park features a picturesque gazebo, a lake, a pond with waterfall, stone bridges and many beautiful weeping willow trees. Not to be confused with Onondaga Lake Park.

Elmwood Park
The park is bounded by Glenwood Ave, Elmwood Ave, Fairfield Ave, and Craddock Street in the heart of the south side of Syracuse.
Info: This large park features a beautiful creek throughout the length of the park, and many beautiful trees and stone steps.

Lincoln Park
Robinson St., Sherwood Ave., Hawley Ave., and Mather St. northeast of downtown Syracuse.
Info: This park has a big hill which you can drive to the top and park, and at the top much of the Syracuse city skyline is visible, which makes for great photos.


Eastern Suburbs – Including East Syracuse, Minoa, Manlius, DeWitt, Fabius, Fayetteville, Cazenovia and Chittenango

Chittenango Falls (Chittenango/Cazenovia)

Info: A huge 167′ waterfall with a bridge at the bottom and many trails.

Pratt’s Falls (Manlius)

Info: A huge 137′ waterfall with walking trails.

Highland Forest (Fabius)

Info: Beautiful forest with many trails.


Northern Suburbs – Including Baldwinsville, Liverpool, Clay, Bridgeport, Cicero, North Syracuse and Brewerton.

Onondaga Lake Park (Liverpool)

Open: Daily 6am-Sunset
Info: This huge park sprawls along the entire north and east side of Onondaga Lake.

Oneida Shores (Brewerton)
9400 Bartell Road Brewerton, NY 13029
Open: Year round, sunrise to sunset.
Varies, average of $6 per vehicle for parking.
Info: This park features a sandy beach, recreational areas and picnic areas.

Beaver Lake (Baldwinsville)
8477 East Mud Lake Road Baldwinsville, NY 13027
Open: Daily 7:30am to sunset.
$3 per vehicle.
Info: This is a serene lake with lots of wildlife, and nature trails that wrap around the whole lake.


Southern Suburbs – Including Nedrow, Pompey, Jamesville, Lafayette and Tully

Erie Canal Park (Camillus)
5750 Devoe Road Camillus NY 13031
Info: This park is right on nine-mile creek and features a museum, a boat house, trails and wildlife.

Shotwell Memorial Park (Skaneateles)
West Genesee Street  Skaneateles, New York 13152 (Downtown village)
Info: This small park features a gazebo which is popular for weddings, a fountain, shrubs and flowers, and provides a great view of the beautiful Skaneateles lake.
